Can You Believe It?!

No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. Our website has a new look, to coincide with the return of our print magazine (BTW, please subscribe) to a monthly publication schedule. In short, we’re back where we started at the height of the Clinton glory: a daily American Spectator online to complement the fearless print monthly.

When we revived the Spectator online in early 2002 we called it The American Prowler. It remained under that name even after we were able to merge with the magazine site itself to form one half of “The American Spectator on the Web.” So now it’s official: To avoid any further confusion (e.g., months ago Lucianne Goldberg, in linking to our site in her “Short Cuts” at Lucianne.com, urged us to call the daily by the same name as the magazine), our weekday site is The American Spectator as well. Increasingly, in any case, that’s what many of you were calling our daily edition.

Of course, we’ve not jettisoned the Prowler identification entirely. The Prowler himself, a.k.a. the Washington Prowler, will remain a mainstay of our stable of troublemakers. From time to time you’ll even see our old site’s cartoon Turkey making an appearance among our posted pages. We’ll carry on as before, except cleaner and more colorful and compassionate. Pictures will become a regular feature. A newsletter is in the works (please subscribe to it too). And as we expand the site we’ll be posting and updating a lot more than just once or twice a day. Like our monthly flagship, we are committed to giving you more: more scoops, more good writing, more smart analysis, more wit, style, and bite.

So welcome to the old American Prowler. Just remember to call him The American Spectator.
