Andrew Sullivan’s Hilarious (Revealing?) Ignorance

Classic — Andrew pulls out some vintage hysteria over the Sacco and Vanzetti case and compares it to critiques of the current administration. But Sacco and Vanzetti were guilty. Ballistics tests in the 60s positively matched Sacco’s gun to the killer bullet, and while some people have continued to dispute the physical evidence, Upton Sinclair was told they were guilty by their lawyer. He covered it up on lying-for-justice grounds — after all, even if these two weren’t railroaded for political reasons, someone else might be! Are there parallels here with Sullivan’s views on the Bushies? If so, they’re surely not the ones he means to draw.
