Quin, you are right and if McCain’s opponents can get a toe hold on McCain Feingold (Thompson can’t) — which is a clear example — then it’s an opening. Rudy seems to have the most disdain for government so there may be something to make hay over. Given the choice between McCain and Hucka-Giftregistry, however, I think McCain still has the upper hand.
