The Bible’s Second Episode

The second installment of The Bible fared somewhat better in terms of accuracy this week. I at least observed no grievous misrepresentations, barring a significant shortening of the Samson and Delilah story that took away the original’s mysterious charm — in the actual story Samson tells Delilah three different ways to lose his strength that prove false before giving her the correct one, this after being nagged “to death” (Judges 16:16). The series has Samson bluntly tell her without any ado whatsoever.

They certainly think more highly of themselves and their awful miniseries than Michelangelo did of himself and his wonderful Pieta.

I suppose being an uneducated, retired fella, I have a bit different view of "The Bible" than our young, highly trained and educated Mr. Adams. Having said that, I would offer this series would have to compete with the likes of "The Big Bang Theory and 2 1/2 Men for viewers. I suspect that would change my presentation a little if I were planning such a production. I for one thought they have done an exceptional job of presenting a very difficult "library" of information in 10 hours. I'll close with: Luke 9:50 Jesus said: Forbid him not, for he that is not against us, is with us.
Pray that many might be touched by God through this series.
