Dem vs. Dem

The timeline to pass health care legislation slipped not because of attacks by Republicans, but because of infighting among Democrats who have large enough majorities in both chambers of Congress to pass a bill without a single Republican vote. Bloomberg reports that Senate Democrats are also fighting among themselves about the national energy tax that was passed by the House:

The U.S. Senate should abandon efforts to pass legislation curbing greenhouse-gas emissions this year and concentrate on a narrower bill to require use of renewable energy, four Democratic lawmakers say.

“The problem of doing both of them together is that it becomes too big of a lift,” Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas said in an interview last week. “I see the cap-and-trade being a real problem.”

Meanwhile, Harry Reid has said, "I don’t think we are going to take to the Senate floor a bill stripped of climate provisions."

Blosheviks versus Mensheviks.

"While both factions believed that a bourgeois democratic revolution was necessary, the Mensheviks generally tended to be more moderate and were more positive towards the "mainstream" liberal opposition.

Why they prospered under the care of their radical brothers of course.

Thanks for the article. I found it very informative. This is an example of why we need a change in Arkansas. Lincoln, has been getting hammered in the last few days here by the people. She has ducked them and scheduled no town meetings and avoiding confrontation. She is acting like the Absentee Land Owner of olden days. Rape the land for what it giver her (voters) and do nothing to sustain it. Then she doesn’t understand when she returns to the plantation and finds the serfs in revolt. So it scares her and she runs, rather than face the music and vote the way Arkansans want. So now she wants to change her mind and stop the democratic tide of supporting Cap and Trade. Well she can only run till November 2010 and then she can go home to Washington DC and rest. It is time for change. Trevor Drown the independent from Russellville will be my choice for our next senator. He is a breath of fresh air that doesn’t care about party politics. He is a bridge builder with real world experience of dealing with problems. He is one of the people and he is respected for his listening ability and problem solving capabilities. The republican party in Arkansas is a joke. They are all bloated fat banker types who look like week old ground venison over stuffed into a sausage sleeve. Not to mention racists and out of touch.
