During his appearance on Jay Leno last night, in addition to his Special Olympics comment, President Obama made the following remark  about why we need more financial regulation:

"When you buy a toaster, if it explodes in your face, there's a law that says, you know, your toasters need to be safe. But when you get a credit card, or you get a mortgage, there's no law on the books that says if that explodes in your face financially, somehow you're going to be protected."

In other words, people who purchased houses that they couldn't afford and ran up debt on their credit cards are mere innocent bystanders when they default on their obligations. This is a rather stunning statement for a president who entered office calling for  "a new era of responsibility..."

Yes, Obama is preparing to introduce new legislation giving every defaulting borrower a strict liability cause of action against his lender, for damages and emotional distress. Very sensible and civilized.

by the way, where do I find that toaster law? My clerks couldn't find it.

He doesn't mean that it is the time for the irresponsible in America to become more responsible. No.. that is not his intent. What is calling for...what he means, is that the responsible Americans must become 'More' responsible.. They must take on more burdens for those who would not.. More taxes, more bailouts, more government, less freedom, socialized medicine, ect. I believe that it is time to tell Obama that we will not be responsible for bowing down to his Socialist agenda and paying for those who will not help themselves.. This is the responsible thing to do..

Does the toaster go with the 1908 Model T? You know the one, the 100+ year old car that gets better gas mileage than a modern SUV?

Now we have exploding toasters... What next? Off-center bowling balls? Or maybe Teleprompters with other politicians speeches on them?

The One is an incompetent, and whatever drivel comes out of his mouth is and "exploding toaster".

I wonder if he needs "Teleprompter" to talk to himself in the mirror when he shaves every morning?

Obama really didn't say that, did he? I mean, no one would be stupid enough to compare an appliance malfunction with irresponsibly running up credit card debt to the point you couldn't pay it back? Would they?

Maybe this weekend my credit cards will "explode" on me and then I'll go to the next Obamalamadingdong town hall love fest and ask for a do-over.

"I needs me some credit cawd releef. Da VISA made me does it."

Careful Prez ! Usually the toaster burns the bread black before it explodes . Is this the best and brightest we always hear about after Harvard graduaions ? Are we to believe he really has a diploma ? Or do they hand them out as some states hand out birth certificates ? Of course we can't expect the government to back us in the Credit Card problem.... Let Master Card or whomever, gore us to death , as long as the President has a stand-up job on Jay Leno......

What a shock!

Maybe it's because the President of the United States has no real world experience whatsoever.

It isn't just that he has never held a job, tried a case, written for publication (other than talking to his ghostwriters), hired an employee, run a business, managed a team or made an exectutive decision.......he also has been handed money and shielded from any aspect of life that normal people experience.

He isn't just hopelessly unqualified to run the country, he isn't even qualified to be an adult.
