Giving the term judicial activism new meaning, President
Obama has nominated an ACORN loyalist to the U.S. Court of
Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the Chicago Tribune
reports.
David F. Hamilton "has a long and impressive record of service
and a history of handing down fair and judicious decisions. He
will be a thoughtful and distinguished addition to the 7th
circuit and I am extremely pleased to put him forward to serve
the people of Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin," the president
said in a
press release that conspicuously ignores the judicial
nominee's actual history.
The Judicial Confirmation Network notes that Hamilton previously
worked as a fundraiser for ACORN,
the radical direct-action group that not only resurrects the dead
and gets them to the polls every election but also shakes down
banks and pressures them to make home loans to people who can't
afford to pay them back.
Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Indiana) is already smitten with Hamilton.
"I enthusiastically support the Senate confirmation of David
Hamilton for U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Judge Hamilton
has served the Southern District of Indiana with distinction as
U.S. District Court Judge," Lugar said.
Go for it -- any slur or mis-representation is fair game. ACORN
never "registered" people illegally, in fact they reported
suspicious registrations on their own. Legally, they were obliged
to accept any application, even from "mickey mouse" -- which is a
good law to keep canvassers from picking and choosing which ones
to throw out, like all those from one politica party or another.

That wasn't even a good try.
We've done our research and conclude that you're not just a liar
- but an ass.
Andrew| 3.18.09 @ 3:43AM
A couple of points.
1) You haven't done your research.
2) Yeah, ACORN underpaid some of its employees, and so these
employees had incentives to register as many people as possible.
Thus, some employees created fake registered voters, such as, say
"Mickey Mouse." This happened a few hundred times.
3) Once again, for the MILLIONTH TIME... ACORN checked suspicious
registrations, and was LEGALLY REQUIRED to turn them over. When
they turned them over, they reported "Hey, yes; this name 'Mickey
Mouse'" is suspicious.
4) And AGAIN; as said above -- we WANT this to be legally
required, because we don't want a group to have the power to
throw out registrations on their own... because such a power
could be misused.
5) Really? Really? You think that's what us Democrats are into?
Registering dead people? Really? You don't seriously believe
that, do you? Some underpaid jerks tried to up their number of
registrations. They were jerks. They sucked. The fake
registrations were thrown out.
6) Even if this was a conspiracy, in order to make it work,
"Mickey Mouse" would have to create a fake "Mickey Mouse" I.D.
card, and show up with it at a polling place, and risk being
arrested. He would have to do that to add a SINGLE VOTE for his
candidate of choice. One additional vote out of 300 million. But
say he voted in five different states; that's double voter fraud,
risked five times, ten chances to go to jail... to add FIVE VOTES
in a nationwide election. NO ONE WOULD EVER DO THIS.
6) Okay? Do you get it? Sorry, but I let a lot of stuff slide on
these websites... but even taking that into account, this phony
ACORN issue is just too ridiculous.
7) "Communist plants." Enough already. The accusation is
hilarious. Have you ever, in your life, met an actual Communist?
There aren't any. I think I met one once in my entire life, when
I was nineteen, at a liberal arts college. I'm sure that he's not
a communist anymore; he was freaking nineteen and an idiot, which
is a major qualification for being a communist. Probably 0.1% of
all Americans are Communists or Socialists. THERE JUST AREN'T ANY
IN THE UNITED STATES. What were are actually called is
"Democrats." There are a lot of us. You disagree with us. Deal
with it.
8) Times suck for Republicans at the current moment. I understand
that. Times weren't super fun for us Democrats over the past
eight years. Suck it up and deal with it.
9) For the future of our country, we need to be able to talk to
each other. And the Republican party has to decide what it stands
for... and what it stands for should not be bizarre conspiracy
theories about ACORN or the weird current meme of calling the
other 51% of the country "Socialists." There are far more
important thing to talk about than either of those things.
10) For the sake of the future of our country, we need to be able
to talk to each other. So let's pull it together. That is all.

Acorn is under indictment in 11 States and four of its workers
have been found guilty of perjury in another State. It would do
conservative Republicans to stay entirely quiet throughout any of
these rather odd goings-on and allow the Democrats and other
well-meaning liberals continue on with whatever it is they would
like to accomplish. At the end of 2009, as congressional
elections loom and Pres. Obama can no longer use the phrase 'we
inherited', the American voters will take a long, hard look at
what the majority Democrat congress has accomplished in FOUR
YEARS (remember, the Democrats have had the majority for the past
two years). Then they'll go to the polls. By then the Republicans
may have gone back to their conservative roots, and if so, the
Republicans who registered as Independents and accounted for the
7% majority that put the Democrats and Mr. Obama in control may

This is in direct opposition to the actual proof that Rush Limbaugh is a big, fat, badly-dressed drug addict, that Dick Cheney and W ignored actual facts when they started a war in Iraq, and that Sarah Palin is a bloodthirsty, empty-headed twit.

After all, I expect as much honesty from ACORN as I do from The Service Employees Union.
Leftists know that decent people would never support their agenda if they knew the truth about it. So they have no choice but to lie, lie, lie...
Johnny| 3.23.09 @ 12:06PM
Why does anyone need an organization to help people register to vote anyway? Seriously, you walk down to the post office, fill out a form, and turn it in. Done. People who can't do something so simple probably shouldn't be trusted with the privilege of voting in the first place. If they are so lazy as not to register themselves to vote, what makes anyone think that they aren't too lazy to research candidates to make an informed decision on which candidate to vote for? Or, is that the point? My money is on the latter.
"Get out the ignorant vote". Scumbags and illegals who will pull any lever that has a (D) next to it are the only people ACORN is registering, imo.

Johnny, you said it well. If people can't figure out the incredibly easy process on their own, they should not be allowed to vote. My opinion, if you don't pay taxes, you can't vote.
BuckeyeSam| 3.23.09 @ 12:32PM
ACORN is a criminal organization that needs to be prosecuted under the RICO statute. It's a cancer that needs to be excised from our country.
Gregory of Yardale| 3.23.09 @ 12:56PM
My opinion, if you don't pay taxes, you can't vote.
My opinion, you should have to pay income taxes *and* pass a citizenship test. Which, considering the ignorance and stupidity of Obama voters would be very threatening to ACORN types.

To the truth deniers:
I wonder why if ACORN is so legite that they are under dozens of federal investigations in multiple states? And more importantly why the still receive taxpayer money today when from 1998 - 2008 they received $31 million dollars ,not including state and local.

Really? Acorn didn't break the law?
seattletimes.com has tons of articles...does it Matter? Well, yes, it does. 129 votes separated our governors race...and those votes kept appearing out of unlocked closets...green card voters...and NO criminal investigation was ever performed.

What's so sad is this is apparently this kind of issue is all that's left of the republican party.
Can't any of you geniuses comment on his judicial record, since as a judge, that would seem to be RELEVANT.
Instead the entire party has become like a bunch of trained monkeys - someone in the media yells "Acorn!!!" and that's all the useful idiots (nice description Terkal of the GOP base) need to come running out of the woodworks spewing their programmed talking points.

Nope. Conversely do you, for your part, get paid to totally ignore reality not to mention a well documented history of ACORN malfeasance that goes back to at least, oh say, when you were still a snot-nose "Pimpf"?
Well? And don't lie to us, because we'll know.

Hey guys, anything on David F. Hamilton besides the fact that he raised money for ACORN in 1979? Members of large organization commit criminal acts in the US -- just to pick an instance, the Catholic Church has had officers go to jail many many times for sex abuse, paid hundreds of millions of dollars in restitution and made a decade long effort to cover it up. All on the record. And who gave the Republican response to Obama last month? A Catholic! Somebody who has studied with the Catholic Church and supports it!
Guys, really, what sort of crazy guilt by association stuff do you fall for? Find something that did or said at least, not that he was in an organization with hundreds of thousands of members over the years, some of whom did criminal stuff for the organization.
Did you know that some postal workers steal mail? And Obama President of the US? The Postal Service is a Federal Agency...Obama is stealing your mail. ..

Fascinating, a call for an armed rebellion in the US, starting with shooting members of ACORN. I hope the Homeland Security Act is good enough to pick up your IP adress, "brother". What happened to all that jazz about supporting your nation through bad times as well as good? Oh, I forget, the Democrats are not real americans and so deserve to be shot. Right.
Listen, while y`all may disagree with the current president, he is the current president. Calls for an armed uprising seems a wee bit... insane? Treacherous? Stupid?

Acorn is under indictment in 11 States and four of its workers have been found guilty of perjury in another State. It would do conservative Republicans to stay entirely quiet throughout any of these rather odd goings-on and allow the Democrats and other well-meaning liberals continue on with whatever it is they would like to accomplish. At the end of 2009, as congressional elections loom and Pres. Obama can no longer use the phrase 'we inherited', the American voters will take a long, hard look at what the majority Democrat congress has accomplished in FOUR YEARS (remember, the Democrats have had the majority for the past two years). Then they'll go to the polls. By then the Republicans may have gone back to their conservative roots, and if so, the Republicans who registered as Independents and accounted for the 7% majority that put the Democrats and Mr. Obama in control may return to the Republican party....but not until then. The Republican party became just as bad as the Democrat party over the past eight years, and unless it mends its ways, it's in big trouble. America longs for values and guidance, not handouts.

Classic cardy boots| 12.11.09 @ 2:04AM
Just as with the Ugg Classic Short the new calf high boot that this footwear company have introduced the Bailey Button offers the same level of comfort. Certainly for women who are looking for a pair of Ugg boots to team with jeans or a long skirt these are ideal.
But as you will soon discover these boots are made more unique by the inclusion of a large wooden button with the Ugg logo on it and an elastic band closure. So it allows you to wear them with this detailing on shown or you can undo the button and then turn the top over to create a cuff.
When it comes to you finding a pair of Ugg boots that will match up to any outfit in your wardrobe then it is worth considering investing money in a pair of chestnut Ugg Bailey Button this winter.
