Global Warmists Caught Red-Handed
Never before have 3,000 emails caused so much pollution.
WASHINGTON — I assume all readers of this column are aware of polite society’s theory of Global Warming. According to the theory, anthropogenic (once known as “man-made”) gases waft into the atmosphere, causing worldwide temperatures to soar and our imminent doom.
Yet, how many of you are familiar with my theory of Kultursmog? According to it, our culture is polluted by political ideas, prejudices, and false pieties advocated by the soi-disant liberals or progressives or People of Conscience or whatever the hell they are calling themselves nowadays. They keep changing their designations, and every designation they opt for becomes an honorific, at least for them. Liberal, indeed — they actually favor government coercion and regimentation. Progressive, indeed — they are for a political system that was recognized as archaic late in the last century when socialism was found to be obsolete even by the Indians and the Chinese.
At any rate, my theory of Kultursmog has just been buttressed by some 3,000 emails of cold probative evidence that Kultursmog is real. That the emails come from the Global Warmists is most gratifying. I have always suspected that they are leading contributors to the smog. That is to say, they are leading polluters of our culture. The Environmental Protection Agency should take note.
The way the Kultursmog works, liberal elites through their undemocratic dominance of cultural institutions — the media, the universities, government bureaucracies — create beliefs, problems, and bugaboos, by studiously ignoring disagreement and by ceaselessly repeating deceits and distortions. Last week hackers — I think of them as selfless public-spirited hackers — broke into the electronic files of one of the leading Global Warmist research centers, the Climatic Research Unit of the University of East Anglia in the UK, and posted some 3,000 of the Warmists’ conspiratorial emails for all the world to see. To my ineffable gratification, the emails displayed the Global Warmists sedulously engaging in just what you would expect in the Kultursmog: deceits, distortions and the suppression of dissenting points of view. Here we have a comprehensive view of Kultursmog in the making.
Our friends in the editorial sanctum sanctorum of the Wall Street Journal pored over all the damning emails. They found dissenting scientists (Global Warming skeptics, as they are called) being blacklisted and suppressed. For instance, Michael Mann, director of the Earth System Science Center at Pennsylvania State University, emailed likeminded Global Warmists advising them to isolate and ignore scientists and scientific journals that publish the views of the skeptics. “I think we have to stop considering Climate Research as a legitimate peer-reviewed journal,” he wrote, going on to urge the encouragement of “our colleagues in the climate research community to no longer submit to, or cite papers in, this journal.” Now that is how Kultursmog taints the debate.
Then there was Phil Jones, director of the University of East Anglia project. He emailed Mr. Mann and others to “delete any emails you may have had with Keith” regarding indelicate references to the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Fourth Assessment Report. Another email from Jones to a co-conspirator asked that he “…change the Received date! Don’t give those skeptics something to amuse themselves with.” The Journal also quotes an unnamed scientist emailing “hide the decline” of temperatures in data that might cast doubt on Global Warming.
Well, I can understand. The fact is that for almost a decade there has been no Global Warming, contrary to the Global Warmists’ computer predictions. In fact, since 2005 there has been Global Cooling.
Well, as I say, thanks to the work of these patriotic hackers we now have plenty of evidence that the Global Warmists are dishonest bullies. Moreover, I now have a perfect educational model to demonstrate how Kultursmog works. But this discovery is not without its melancholy aspects too. There once was a day when scientists were empiricists believing in reason and fair play. Those who have been exposed in the Global Warming hoax are mere propagandists.

While we wait for The Olde Yorke Times to publish these emails, I anxiously wait for Sen. Inhofe to put these emails in front of "Sen" Boxer and see her hair catch on fire with denial.
These buggers ahve been caught dead to rights with LYING and MAKING IT UP!
Maybe now we'll have some honest debate about the diminished sun spot cycles and how they affect the earth's overall environment.

There's no smoking gun, no fraud, nothing but enlightenment. The Prophet Obama's going to get the U.S. on track with the program. Global Warming is here to stay, ever present in the gaseous emissions of the Left and their enablers in the media, whether or not there's any Global Warming and however negligible its consequences. That's the whole point. The alternative media are not certified by the gatekeepers of "polite society". If it's reported only on Fox, it didn't happen. If Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck said it, it's beneath their dignity to respond. If some suburban grandmother painted it on a homemade sign for a tea party protest, it merits only ridicule.
The smog is dense. We can only hope that the disinfecting sunshine of truth will burn it off in time. I am not confident: so many people want to wrap themselves in the thick cuddly blanket of Obamunism and the warm dulcet baritone of the Teleprompter-in-Chief.

As one of the wise men among us has reminded us from time to time, the "global warming " crowd are those who flocked to this scam when the wall fell and the glorious 5 yr plans ended. No more did they journey to the capital of the evil empire and return to the free world with yarns of abundant crops; medical care perfection and free and happy citizens frolicking in Moscows streets. No longer did they support Stalin and his murdering and gulags and, finally they gave up insisting on Alger Hiss innocence. They landed in the international invironmental movement. What better way to dam and defeat America? No Mr Baker, high schoolers they aint! They are serious enemys of freedom worldwide and they have to complete the scam no matter the cost.
The global warming legislation that cleared the house with rino votes rests in the senate. Its purpose is to contribute to our nations bankruptcy and weaken us with complete dependence on our enemies for energy-read russia and the arabs. The hackers who gave us the truth on our glorious "scientists" have provided proof of the foundation of their science. It's one big lie we already knew about! Will it make a difference? Maybe. These "hacked" emails and other revelations that are appearing at least give more and more elected officials a higher level of courage to publicly state their unbelief in the dogma of climate change. They can do so with a somewhat lesser degree of ridicule since they can point to growing dissent and evidence.

I have been a fan of Mr. Tyrrell's for several decades now, but I think he has made one error of nomenclature in this very entertaining and incisive piece: the leakers in question are not "hackers," a term that suggests criminality; they are "whistleblowers." This is a term the progressives understand and appreciate. The New York Times uses the term "hacker" in this case because it provides them a flimsy excuse to honor the privacy of the conspirators and refrain from publishing their emails.
But I forgive Mr. Tyrrell this oversight. We've all been breathing the Kultursmog for so long that it's toxicity sometimes has an affect on even the most astute observer.

I don't have an opinion on global warming since my profession is trying lawsuits. I do have an opinion about the stolen emails. I know that if I have all your emails for a year or so, no matter who you are, I can find juicy snippets that I can take out of context and use to smear you. It happens dozen of times every day in courtrooms across the country. People really have to examine the evidence closely and think critically to get past the smears I construct, I am so clever.

It was a government computer and they were discussing non-classified government business. The juicy snippets were on how to undermine the peer review process to eliminate debate, discussions on why they can't explain the lack of warming (defying their public "consensus" of being all knowing), discussing how to get around freedom of information acts (hiding data so it can't receive independent review) and more. This is an outrage. The leaker should be viewed as a whistle blower. We are talking about scientific fraud not juicy snippets. I wouldn't be interested so much but the bozos involved are part of big power grab that will greatly affect all our standards of living.

The input data and predictive computer models are what needs to be worked over. If they show garbage then it is over. You would think legitimate scientists would want to come forward and show the validity of their work to clear their name . That is not what we are seeing and that says volumes. Oh hell! the great Gods of Climate Change derided the American people as the maggots of the earth devouring all the worlds resources from the poor and unfortunate caring nothing else for the big blue ball other than their own greedy selfishness.
Only government could save us from our own gluttonous lifestyles of driving our carbon belching Sport Utility Vehicles, to energy gormandizing blenders, mix-masters, and the great free-market demon called, "PLASMA and FLAT SCREEN."
We had to give up or privacy and personal property rights to allow lab coated bespectacled legions of, "Energy Auditors" to invade our domiciles to calculate the carbon output of Fido, and the neighbors cat.
Our thermostats in our homes were to be removed and relocated to Copenhagen so that the Euro elites could turn off and on our furnaces and air conditioners because the, "Barrack the Oracle," said, "The American people are to ignorant to control the temperature inside their
homes and therefore we must do it for them."
And the United Nations clasped their hands and joined in unity, "Yes, The One has brought balance back into the world."
Meanwhile the sock puppet scientists faces lit up with joy and glee and danced naked around their temperature and C02 monitoring stations chanting, "Show us the grants, show us the grants, and Hi Ho, Hi Ho it's off to the bank we gooooooo."
This crescendo of Global Warming was to culminate in Oslo for Kyoto II for one big orgasmic mass ejaculation like popping
champagne corks. And the trillions of trillions of trillions of taxes were to roll in.
But, the American people once again saw through this mass Euro stupidity and said, "This is Bull
Squeeze"
Once again the American people have saved the world. So someone get Al Gore a gift certificate to Jenny Craig, tell the scientist to put their clothes back on, and move the monitoring stations away from the exhaust of jet engines at the airports. Notify the UN to close all those new accounts they opened up for all the carbon taxes that they were to collect, and give Ed Ed Begley some Prozac to calm down, scratch that, he's an actor and already on it. Because the big cash balloon isn't going to happen.
So the former Communists who took over the environmental movement will have go back to the shadows and reemerge as something else or maybe they'll go down to New Zealand or something else.
Ahh yes, America all is well again with the world, or at least for the next five minutes. "Hey! Will someone tell Al Gore to come out of the bathroom with the cheesecake the rest of the family would like some."

If this email hack happened a few years into the future instead, would the govts that then control the internet allow its wide-spread dissemination? We've handed control of the internet, from fair&balanced; U.S. hands to a host of entities with their own fish to fry. Controlling content, including political discourse, criticism, debate, facts, citizen-reports, and even fraud uncovered in an earth-worship based 'science' is the wave of the future. We are in the Golden days of the internet with regards to free speech. Those plotting our existence under their rule cannot allow an unrestricted exchange of ideas into the future indefinitely, anymore than they can allow full disclosure on GW data, including methodology (assuming it involves more than neat 'tricks' and character assassination).

I do have an opinion on global warming, and as an engineer with 35+ years of earning a living by an understanding of thermodynamics, I can say without a doubt that the "greenhouse gas" theory is a lot of gas, namely hot air.
A former NASA researcher discovered that the a series of equations, Milne equations developed in 1922, that are used as the basis for atmospheric heat dispersal (what happens when the sun goes down) were improperly derived, and the error always gives answers that predict atmospheric warming. NASA refused to even acknowledge his finding, so he is now a former NASA employee.
Now we find that even with error in mathematics, that the raw data did not give the answers that these scientific whores wanted, so they had to "adjust " the data to fit the assumptions.
The esteemed Charles Krauthammer last night on FOX stated that the theory was not junk science, one of the very few times that he has been totally wrong. Now our esteemed boy president says he is going to Copenhagen to swear our country's allegiance to this fantasy.
All we can do is keep pounding the truth, but I fear the outlook is bleak.

Well, I never had a strong opinion on this matter because I do not keep with science in this subject. However, I do know that the Bible says that this world is here to stay until Jesus Christ comes back. So, I never sweat about it. However, this scandle has revealed that there are people who make up things which have dramatic impact in the whole world. And some take advantage of that. Imagine how much resources have been wasted! Well, it is kind of good that this thing came up in Obama's administration. He has pursued so many leftist progressist projects and all of them are being exposed for the damage they cause to everyone.

While the emails are amusing, the computer codes from the same hacked data are the true smoking gun. One programmer spent three years trying to replicate Hadley CRU data to no avail. He noted that the data appeared to have been manually and automatically altered at numerous points. While he could get the program to run, he could not produce data from the program.
The fact that Hadley CRU's data is not able to be replicated means that said data does not exist and any paper or data using any of Hadley as a reference or foundation point is now bunk.

I work for the Australian government and my previous job was in the branch that managed climate change policy for my department. I have fond memories of my branch head telling me that the Australian Greenhouse Office would not release their data because they did not want it to be independently assessed. My immediate conclusion was that global warming was a gigantic con and the data to 'prove' it was a fudge. Now we know the same thing was going on for years in Britain and in New Zealand as well. I simply do not believe these climate change alarmists any more, it is a giant scam to vastly increase the power of the state and screw taxes out of people through carbon taxes. Three FACTS should have killed the man caused Global Warming fraud - years ago.
1. Known Solar activity (sun spots/flares) levels were clearly correlated to the documented and normal swings in Earth's temperatures. The Earth's temperature has been dropping for at least a decade - due to a DECREASE in solar activity.
2. A lifetime buffoon and political whore like Al Gore could not possibly be intelligent or ethical enough to convince anyone but fools or charlatans to follow him.
3. The instant the hoax became a justification for the government and the U.N. to seize power and think about taxing and mandating life controlling "corrective measure" - folks should have been alarmed.

Cap and trade is one such maneuver–it will be very costly to heat our homes and transport ourselves. You may be right! You also may be wrong. You acknowledge as much in your first paragraph.
Rules of inference tell us that false conclusions (and even true ones) may be derived from false premises. Until we know the premise is true, we cannot know what to do.
There is the rub. Which ever way the truth lies, I believe we can all agree that there has been a lot of hysteria. The very suggestion that we cannot wait to find out the truth, that we must act now may sound attractive but is, in fact, unreasonable.
That supposed objective scientists will not engage in active debate instead relying on "settled science" is a farce. There is no such argument in the scientific method. In fact settled science agreed that the sun orbited the earth.
Even assuming for the sake of argument that these emails are all entirely innocent, the data have been challenged. Scientifically, the only response is openness and defence of the premises. After all, a single counter-example destroys the theory. It seems the observation that the earth hasn't warmed as called by for the theory might just be that counter-example.
I see too much scientific uncertainty and too much political opportunism to be willing to return to the Stone Age just yet.

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad – Leaders of the Commonwealth countries called Saturday for a legally binding international agreement on climate change and a global fund with billions of dollars to help poorer countries meet its mandates.
The 53-nation meeting was the largest gathering of world leaders before next month's global climate summit in Copenhagen.
The leaders said a deal should be adopted no later than next year and the support money should be available simultaneously, providing up to $10 billion a year starting in 2012.
At least 10 percent of the fund, the group said, should be dedicated to small island and low-lying coastal nations, which are at risk of catastrophic changes from global warming.
"Climate change is the predominant global challenge," the Commonwealth leaders, meeting in the twin-island Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago, said in a declaration. "For some of us, it is an existential threat."

I once knew a serial adulterer and he said "even if your wife catches you in bed with another woman, you should deny, deny, deny". Same in politics. Climategate makes no difference to radicals whose environmentalism is a religion and makes no difference to the pols. You see, for the pols it was never about science anyway; it was about having a plausible pretext for raising taxes and expanding govt. And so, they deny, deny, deny. Just like they did with the Fort Hood shootings.

To those of us that already know that man made global warming was not settled science,these relevations are not so startling.
In fact, they will have almost no effect on the non debate because the majority of the old media which ia where the vast uninformed citizens ge their info will not cover this.
This is not a Watergate gotcha but will be continued to be covered up and some Conservatives will continue to think they are making progress by writing cool articles.
Nothing will happen till we chane our tsctics for fighting back !!!
