Former U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard endorsed presidential nominee Donald Trump at the National Guard conference on Monday.
I am proud to stand here before you today — whether you’re a Democrat, Republican, or an Independent — if you love our country as I do, if you cherish peace and freedom as we do, I invite you to join me in doing all that we can to save our country and elect president Donald J. Trump and send him back to the White House to do the tough work of saving our country and serving the people.
Before the conference, Gabbard joined Trump at Arlington National Cemetery, where he honored the 13 service members who were killed in Kabul three years ago during the Afghanistan withdrawals. “I know that President Trump understands the grave responsibility that a president and commander-in-chief bears for every single one of our lives …. He keeps us in his heart in the decisions that he makes.” Gabbard said.
The 2020 presidential candidate and combat veteran further praised Trump’s record during his 2016 presidential term, citing how he took action to prevent wars and meet with foreign leaders. “We cannot be prosperous unless we are at peace. We cannot live free as long as we have a government that is retaliating against its political opponents and undermining our civil liberties — weaponizing our very institutions against those they deem as a threat,” Gabbard said.
Having served as Hawaii’s House Representative from 2013 to 2021 as a member of the Democratic party, Gabbard denounced her allegiance to the party in 2022. In her video announcement on X, she stated that the party is “now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and & stoking anti-white racism, who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms that are enshrined in our Constitution.”
