Really, I am a very happy, positive person. I thank G-d every day for the sun, for the moon, for air, for gravity, for fruits and vegetables and meat, for all His creation, and for the life He has extended for me in it. Life is wonderful, and it is such a great blessing to have been born in the most generous and perhaps most successful country there ever has been. (Although Israel during the era of King Solomon was exceptional, as any study of First Kings reflects. See, e.g., I Kings 5–6. For that matter, the Queen of Sheba schlepped all the way from Africa to see what she was missing. I Kings 10. But America is right up there in all of human history.) I am so fortunate that G-d allowed me to be born and grow up here in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
That is why I am so frustrated watching everything around us being destroyed. Better to have been oppressed by King George and then to have risen up, dumped his tea, and thrown out the whole bunch of them to create the Grand Experiment that became the United States of America, as envisioned by our Founding Fathers in the Federalist Papers, than to see something so magnificent as this grand country destroyed, brick by brick, in our lifetimes.
The system perniciously has declared “open season” on the standout populist conservative.
They have destroyed education and leveraged their takeover of our high schools and colleges to rear two consecutive generations of ignorant children born on this soil who do not know what our founding values are, what our Declaration of Independence and Constitution stand for. Now those college graduates would destroy the world they were afforded on a silver platter. They would deny basic freedoms ensconced in the Bill of Rights — like freedom of speech — to people, even federal appeals court judges, whom they oppose. They would destroy a powerhouse national economy in the name of “global warming,” which they renamed “climate change” when their dire warming predictions fizzled out. They shamelessly would change every social convention for a quick fix that will destroy everything two centuries have crafted so excellently.
They have no shame, no limits. They falsely slander a wholesome devout Catholic family man, fabricating a rape claim to disqualify him from the Supreme Court. They follow a United States senator to the bathroom and shout into her stall as she does her private business. They burn cities, shouting “Black Lives Matter!” even after it was found that Trayvon Martin was killed lawfully, that Michael Brown was killed lawfully, and that Freddie Gray died lawfully. Even the Obama–Holder Justice Department found no wrongdoing by Officer Darren Wilson of Ferguson after the grand jury refused to charge him. But they scream “Black Lives Matter!” and burn Black neighborhoods, never mobilizing to protest mass murder of Blacks in cities like Lori Lightfoot’s Chicago and sister cities like Detroit, Memphis, St. Louis, New Orleans, Philadelphia, and New York City, where accused murderers get released without bail.
They are destroying our country and our civilization. I like my plastic straws and plastic bags and gas stove. As an Orthodox Jew, there are actual reasons — too esoteric for this discussion — that a gas stove is preferred over electric ones, particularly on the first and last days of Rosh Hashanah, Pesach (Passover), Shavuot (Festival of Weeks), and Sukkot (Festival of Tabernacles). They are oh-so-worried about American corporations violating one or another woke principle while the Chinese and Arab Muslim Oil Sheikhdoms pollute away into the very same atmosphere, unbridled. So we buy dirty oil from Saudi Arabia because we have all the money in the world and deplete our national Strategic Petroleum Reserve, leaving our own cleaner natural energy in the ground.
They destroy our social fabric by turning abortion-on-demand into a religious sacrament of secularism and demand that we deny what our eyes see: that there are only two genders, male and female. They would have us shove transgenderism down the throats of our schoolchildren, even as they put their kids in private schools that focus on teaching the subjects they deny the Black and Hispanic minorities who cannot afford their lily-White schools and whom they prevent from choosing better schools for their children to attend. In a state with a $300 billion annual budget and a $23 billion deficit looming this year, they would tax Californians who never had anything to do with slavery, and many whose ancestors died fighting slavery, to pay $800 billion to people who already have been recipients of 60 years of Democrat “Great Society” handouts, “affirmative action” quotas in admissions and hiring, and endless benefits that replaced the American values of self-help and the personal pursuit of excellence. I should pay “reparations” to LeBron James and Kamala?
And they now have begun a despicable war on Donald Trump that will not end with Trump. Understand that: These broken taboos will not end with Trump.
This is an Era of How-Aboutism: Should your son have grown up as openly unfaithful to his wife as JFK was? (Judith Exner. Mimi Alford. Marilyn Monroe.) As coarsely obscene and perversely disgusting as Lyndon Johnson was? (He talked about his organ constantly, calling it “Jumbo.” He forced top advisers to stand alongside him as he micturated. He held press conferences while stark naked. He conducted important meetings while sitting on a toilet with the door open. He urinated on a Secret Service agent’s leg.) Nixon? Clinton? (Juanita Broaddrick. Paula Corbin Jones. Kathleen Willey. Monica Lewinsky.) Obama was deeply corrupt. (Tony Rezko.) Biden is more corrupt than all the others put together.
Yes, Trump frolicked shamefully with the pole dancer whose paroxysmal sobriquet deserves no mention. He bloviated inappropriately about cavorting with women. But Trump is being persecuted now by an endless, horrible woke vomiting of everything in their arsenal to destroy him.
Suddenly, he has to answer for everything he ever did in his life, even 30 years ago. How many of his media and other accusers could survive such scrutiny? Obama was doing drugs back when a Ronald Reagan Supreme Court nominee had to withdraw because he had smoked marijuana like Kamala Harris. Suddenly, Alvin Bragg, who prosecutes almost no one, puts Trump on trial for charges that only a corrupt legal system can countenance. New York City has that system, where criminals and murderers go free.
Trump’s rape jury found, even without him sitting in the courtroom, that there was no evidence of the alleged rape. That was the essence of the accusation. So, instead, they found he had harassed the belated accuser three decades ago. Maybe he did, and maybe he didn’t. But consider: How many American men — to their shame — harassed a woman 30 years ago? Did anyone besides Trump? Did Obama? Did Cory Booker? Did any other American besides Harvey Weinstein and Don Draper? Has Andrew Cuomo been prosecuted or sued?
The system perniciously has declared “open season” on the standout populist conservative who uniquely confronted those deconstructing America. Threaten their abortions-on-demand, and they will find someone to accuse you of rape. Challenge their windmills or Chinese-manufactured solar panels or paper straws, and they will go back decades to destroy you. There will be some woman touched, some person wronged, and they will try you before an entire nation. They will lock up anyone who even associates with you: Paul Manafort, Lt. Michael Flynn, Steve Bannon, Roger Stone, Peter Navarro. They will keep putting you on trial because, even if you are worth $2.5 billion and a $5 million judgment is “chump change” for you, they will keep you tied up the rest of your life for delving into their Swamp.
Bill Clinton was not prosecuted. Hillary spoliated evidence, a federal crime, and she was not prosecuted. They again want to destroy Clarence Thomas, this time for accepting an invitation to join a friend on travel, but they never confronted Obama over accepting enormous financial benefits from convicted criminal Tony Rezko.
And, yes, they may win in part. There are so many “independents” and suburban moms who, last time around, voted for a doddering idiot who heads a criminal family enterprise and for his running mate, an incompetent who slept her way into Democrat graces but will not be investigated for what she immorally did. So MAGA conservatives are forced to confront electoral realities. We must recover the White House and control both Houses of Congress, resume remaking the federal judiciary, and prevent Democrats from naming ever more woke and dishonest judges like the one who, perjuring under oath, supposedly cannot define what a woman is. We cannot afford four more years of our southern border being invaded, losing culture wars by letting the Left control all strings, having them pack the Supreme Court, adding Puerto Rico and D.C. as states, and all the rest. Sadly, when voting, we must accept the reality that we need independents who don’t know up from down.
It stinks. The whole thing stinks. We have to beat them before they destroy what remains.
