Sometimes the historical moment can be caught precisely and economically by music. (And other times not. See a long list of hairball rockers, and those moaning and whining folk bores of the Sixties. If I had given my love a cherry back then she would have gone with some other guy. And I would have had no cause for complaint.)
The young teacher in this clip (below) has performed a musical service for us all in our period of Corona gulag, when politicians, many of them agenda-driven, have locked down and bottled up the most vibrant society on Earth. We are indebted to this fine American, who has such a sensitive grasp of how music reflects real life and our feelings about it. A fine performer too. May she live long and prosper, touching the lives of many students before she joins that great jam session in the sky.
