Santorum’s Daughter on Father in Private
by

Plenty to report on tonight from Rick Santorum’s appearance in Mobile at a dinner for the Alabama Policy Institute, followed tomorrow by reports (I hope) on a Santorum public rally at the USS Alabama Battleship and on a Gingrich rally later in the day Friday in Mobile.

Other blog posts here in the coming hour or so will report on what Santorum said tonight. For now, though, here was my very brief interview with his daughter Elizabeth, who was travelling with him:

Q: “What do people not know about your Dad that he should know?”

Elizabeth: (Laughs). “He’s really funny.”

Q: “Really?”

Eliz: “He has a great sense of humor. He’s funny, and he loves to quote movies, and he loves to sing —

Q: “Really? He loves to sing?”

Eliz: “He loves Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin, and, you know he grew up in an Italian house and that type of music was always played and it was played in our house growing up. And I can remember him cooking pasta and singing Frank Sinatra…. It’s the fun side of him.”
