London Bridge: Progress of Sorts at CNN

by

An old habit of tuning in CNN for news of the world at such moments as Saturday night’s ISIS-inspired attacks in London revealed something unusual on that network and its ilk: the use of such terms as “Islamist terrorism” and “Islamist extremist views.” Not that they came from a wide array of anchors or reporters, just from a single expert on the ground, Paul Cruickshank, identified as “CNN Terrorism Analyst.” Seems he has good London police sources and was speaking in terms of police knowing of a good several thousand potential Islamist attackers. He ran off a growing list of similar recent attacks, including at Ohio State University last year. And he uttered those taboo Islamist terms and wasn’t bleeped out.

None of this is over.
