Jon Voight Slams Insulated Leftist Celebrities
by

He’s always good for a quote.

“We were once a country of freedom, and now we’re becoming a country of tyranny,” Mr. Voight said. “We are witness to our own people burning down and looting our cities. Ferguson, Missouri, Milwaukee, Orlando, Florida, Baltimore. We are all witness to our own people killing our policemen. Islamic terrorists have killed thousands of people all over our country, and Hillary and Obama want to be politically correct and pretend all the killings are not happening.”

Over the weekend, Mr. Voight sparred with fellow actor Robert De Niro after Mr. De Niro released an angry video calling Donald Trump a “pig” and saying he wanted to “punch” the Republican presidential nominee “in the face.” Mr. Voight, an outspoken supporter of Mr. Trump, responded in a series of tweets calling Mr. De Niro’s video an “ugly rant” and called on Trump supporters to “express their outrage and anger against” the actor.

At an appearance in Dubai on Sunday, Mr. De Niro said Mr. Voight is “a nice guy, but he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”

Mr. Voight went after Mr. De Niro again in his video.

“Robert De Niro is a millionaire, as are so many of our Hollywood stars who are voting for Hillary, and who have absolutely no tolerance for anyone with a different opinion, forgetting that that is what our country is founded on: freedom of choice,” he said. “But they will not be affected by Hillary’s open borders. Only our poor and middle class will suffer.

Hmmm, Voight seems to know exactly what he’s talking about from where I’m sitting.

That’s the thing about freedom-crippling leftism: its most vocal proponents are always immune to its effects. Communist Party leaders in the Soviet Union never had to stand in any bread lines. Fidel Castro certainly hasn’t missed a meal since he became #1 Commie in Cuba.

Hollywood leftists can afford a blind devotion to socialism (or communism) because, quite simply, they can afford almost anything. A guy who owns five homes and flies first class all the time isn’t going to sweat an extra $500 a month for health insurance. He probably keeps a private physician on call. Chained in a basement.

A wealthy celebrity advocating for big government socialism is as out of line as a man explaining to a woman which method of childbirth would be best for her.

If you examine the lot of them, the celebrities who are most vocal about leftist causes are the ones to whom money and fame came relatively early. They all have stories about “struggling” in the “early days” but they rarely mention that the early days only lasted for eleven months when they were 22. Most of them were rich before they were 30 and have used their financial peace of mind time in the intervening years to decide how middle class Americans should spend our money.

Thankfully, Jon Voight is successful enough that he can criticize the insane leftist doctrine that most stars unquestioningly lap up and not take any career hits.
