Huh?
A contest to identify the most clueless statement by John Kerry would doubtless lead to an avalanche of entries, most of them worthy. But he outdid himself today in his lame attempt today to justify the snit Barack Obama is indulging with Benjamin Netanyahu on his way out the door.
Here’s the knee-slapper that may be page one of the soon to be published Unabridged Kerry Dumbness Anthology: “Israel can either be Jewish or democratic. It cannot be both.”
The only reasonable reaction to this knee-buckler is, “HUH?”
Israel has been both the homeland of the Jewish people and a democracy for decades. Others are welcome, can become citizens, and enjoy more rights there than in any other Mideast country. John Kerry may not be the brightest bulb in the chain, and he has shown himself capable over the years of believing the most incredible eyewash. But this I find impossible to believe he doesn’t know. He must simply be knowingly defending the indefensible. Somebody has to do it, I guess.
