Elon Musk has begun to walk back attacks on President Donald Trump in the wake of the two’s falling-out.
Musk’s statement was posted to X early Wednesday morning at 3:04 a.m. Eastern Time and stated, “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.”

In a call with the New York Post, Trump responded to the apology, stating, “I thought it was very nice that he did that,” but did not tell the outlet whether any further reconciliation would be made on his part.
Musk is likely expressing regret over his June 6 post, which stated, “@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public,” later adding, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”
Other incendiary X posts by Musk attacked the president, triggered by the billionaire’s harsh criticism of Trump’s “big beautiful bill.” (RELATED: Trump-Musk: Why This Feud Was in the Cards)
Musk began to move away from the feud last week, deleting his X post about Trump’s alleged relationship to Jeffrey Epstein, as well as deleting a repost calling for President Trump’s impeachment.
Trump has remained fairly distant from the dramatic dispute, signaling his desire to address national issues while wishing Musk well. “I’m not thinking about Elon,” Trump said. “I just wish him well.”
The apology represents a possible quelling of the feud between the billionaire and Trump, though it is unlikely the two will rejoin forces. When asked by reporters whether he believes his relationship with the SpaceX founder is over, Trump stated, “I would assume so, yeah.”
