Treating the Treasury Department like it’s the Trump Taj Mahal will make the 2008 financial crisis look like a hiccup. It would be a global catastrophe and its consequences could last decades.
Tea Party activists would decry President Obama for leading the nation into bankruptcy. Well, a plan like this would for all intents and purposes be bankruptcy and the people that who would suffer the greatest harm are the working class folks Trump claims to champion.
I’m sure Trump will distance himself from this scheme only to come back to it at a future date.
Tea Partiers should be the first people to be skeptical of Trump’s schemes. Yet many Tea Partiers (and others) are accept whatever Trumps says at face value. The problem is what’s face value today won’t be worth a penny in six months from now.
