So Donald Trump praises Saddam Hussein for killing terrorists:
He was a bad guy — really bad guy. But you know what? He did well? He killed terrorists. He did that so good. They didn’t read them the rights. They didn’t talk. They were terrorists. Over. Today, Iraq is Harvard for terrorism.
Actually, Saddam sheltered terrorists. In April 2003, shortly after the War in Iraq began, U.S. Special Forces captured Abu Abbas of the Palestine Liberation Front. Abbas had been wanted by U.S. authorities for his organization of the October 1985 hijacking of the Achille Lauro, an Italian cruise ship. During the attack, the PLF made a point of shooting an elderly, wheelchair bound American Jew named Leon Klinghoffer in the head and chest and forced crew members to throw his body and wheelchair overboard. Make no mistake. Klinghoffer was killed because he was a Jew. He was aboard the ship to celebrate his 36th wedding anniversary with his wife Marilyn. What should have been a joyous occasion turned into terrorism on the high seas.
Let’s be clear. Abbas was able to evade justice for nearly 20 years because of one man – Saddam Hussein. Whatever one might think of the wisdom of the War in Iraq, by suggesting that Saddam killed terrorists Donald Trump has disgracefully defamed the memory of Leon Klinghoffer.
