There was high turnout in the Wisconsin state supreme court race, with the Democrat-backed challenger leading the Republican-backed incumbent by about 224 votes at last count. (The race is nominally nonpartisan.) Also Paul Ryan’s home state, this became a competitive election after Gov. Scott Walker’s restrictions on collective bargaining by public-sector unions.
