This week, many Americans became aware of the conspiracy of silence that is the Biden administration. That is, even Democrats and those who are politically unaffiliated began to notice that those highest up in the White House are colluding to hide the fact that the president’s mental faculties have significantly declined.
“Fair or not, you can’t unring the bell,” said David Axelrod, Barack Obama’s former senior adviser. Indeed, the report from Robert Hur, the special counsel who investigated Biden’s mishandling of classified material, has put all Americans on alert regarding Biden’s capacities (or lack thereof).
Hur deemed Biden to be so mentally diminished that it would be difficult for a jury to find him guilty. “[A]t trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” said Hur in a line that has been repeated over and over since the release of the report.
This is not — as Biden’s most ardent defenders in the media have claimed — an irrelevant, partisan swing. The relevant statute here unusually requires that, for a defendant to be found guilty, he must have acted willfully. That means a defendant must have intended to break the law.
It could possibly even be said that Hur’s decision to not prosecute Biden hinges upon his belief that jurors might determine that Biden lacked intent to break the law simply because he is cognitively impaired and totally clueless.
The upcoming days and weeks will provide more information on just how much damage has been done. But even now, in the immediate aftermath of the report, it appears that realization has dawned on many that Joe Biden is mentally incapacitated.
