Ariel Castro, who received a life sentence for the kidnapping, decade-long confinement and repeated rape of three teenagers, was found dead in his prison cell on Tuesday night. He apparently hanged himself.
He must have realized that a much worse fate was in store for him if he had entered the general population at a large Ohio prison.
Good riddance is too kind. A relative of one of Castro’s victims put it concisely: “Now he has to answer to God.”
