One benefit of having a lot of good people run for the presidency is that lots of good ideas get introduced into the public realm. For instance, former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore deserves credit for this idea for protecting property rights, and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani merits plaudits for his specificity about fiscal discipline (as summarized by the excellent Deroy Murdock).
