Home » Hot off the Press » Hillary Wins Nevada; The Bern Begins to Flicker Out
I am watching Hillary Clinton’s victory speech in the Nevada Caucuses. With 79% of the results in, Hillary won 52.2% of the vote compared to 47.8% for Bernie Sanders.
Hillary is in peak demagoguery. She just said that children in Flint, Michigan were forced to drink toxic water so Rick Snyder could save a few bucks. In Hillary’s world, Flint’s incompetence and the EPA’s negligence doesn’t exist.
But make no mistake. This is a big, big win for Hillary. A win for Bernie would have shown New Hampshire wasn’t a fluke and the ripples of doubt would have turned into a tidal wave.
Despite his popularity with youth (including African-American and Latino youth), I can’t see Bernie overcoming Hillary’s popularity with the African-American community in the South.
I believe the Bern will begin to flicker from this point forward.
