Re: A Knight’s Tale

Drew: You say it’s not personal yet you call Knight a “jerk” and essentially libel him by claiming he’s “utterly incapable of controlling his temper.” How would you know? Based on ESPN clips and the New York Times? I’ve seen at least several hundred of the games Knight has coached, and I’d say he’s been in beautiful control of his temper 99.9 percent of the time. By the way, I never said Knight is conservative. I have no idea what his politics are. Back in Indiana he was equally friendly with Birch Bayh and “Doc” Bowen (the latter who went on to serve in the first Bush administration). Where you see a perennial jerk I saw a perennial jock. He’s a basketball man through and through, and as such too guileless to curry favor with the elites by backing trendy causes that would polish his image and provide PR immunity the next time he offends superior sensitivies.
