Speaking today in London, Secretary of State John Kerry explained that any prospective action in Syria would be “unbelievably small,” as opposed to the comparatively grandiose efforts by the United States in Iraq and Afghanistan. The secretary wisely explained that the U.S. will avoid making any “prolonged kind of effort” in Syria, instead pursuing “a very limited, very targeted, very short-term effort that degrades his capacity to deliver chemical weapons without assuming responsibility for Syria’s civil war.”
