At CFIF, my column today details a very, very long list of examples of what columnist Michael Barone first described as the “gangster government” tendencies of Barack Obama and his minions.
I want to add to that list (please do read it), with a caveat: My list included only examples of thuggish tactics; it was hardly a full list of Obamite scandals. If I had included the latter, there would have been prominent mention of the still-unexplained, still-scandalous “Fast and Furious” gun-running operation. I also of course would have included the Solyndra (and similar sweetheart deals) scandal. There also was the official “contempt of court” citation the administration earned via its moratorium/permitorium on Gulf oil drilling. Then there is the New Black Panther voter-intimidation case (mentioned in passing in my piece, but not as a scandal in and of itself, which it was). And EPA’s Lisa Jackson’s misuse of private emails for government business, which was mirrored by DoJ Civil Rights Division’s Tom Perez’ misuse of private emails for government business.
Those scandals, and others, don’t involve direct threats or thuggery — but they show a major culture of corruption. They are inexcusable.
