The polls keep coming in, Fox being the latest, which shows a seven point lead for McCain and 45% of Independents intending to vote in the GOP primary.McCain leads by 4 pts among true Republicans and 12 points among Independents, and has a huge margin in the “stand up for what he believes” category( 19 points). Romney leads among very conservative and somewhat conservative voters. The poll was taken January 4-6, an entirely post-Iowa survey in other words. McCain is leading in all but one reported poll( if they are right, boy will they have an “I told you so”).
