First, as aside: There are LOTS of brilliant pieces on today’s page. Phil, Jim, Shawn, Prowler, Jim B…. congratulations. Now, as for Jennifer’s astute and absolutely on-target blog just below here about McEconomics, there IS one area of economics where McCain — whose domestic policies on the whole are all almost entirely emoted rather than thought out, because logically, there is almost no coherence to them whatsoever — just flat-out flunks every conservative test. That area is regulation. As I put it in my column last week, if it moves, McMean wants to regulate it. It is a terrible, terrible weakness. Frankly, I was surprised that Jack Kemp endorsed him — a significant endorsement, to be sure — both because of McAmnesty’s opposition to the Bush tax cuts and especially because of McNasty’s fondness for a regulatory state that Kemp, to his credit, always opposed. For that matter, where does McAngry stand on monetary policy? Kemp is well known as a gold bug. Is McCain? If he’s not, then that is another reason why Kemp’s endorsement would seem McInane….
