Our Own Little Pravda
by

The Washington Post is our own little Pravda, kissing up to Obama on every day. Each day there’s a story about the pain caused by the sequester, the idea being that any attempt to introduce a bit of fiscal sanity puts all Heaven in a rage. Coupla days ago the Post had a story on page one above the fold on how Obamacare is empowering nurses. There will be fewer doctors and the nurses will take up the slack. A story about how doctors will retire rather than deal with Obamacare gets a feminist spin. Then two days ago there was a story about how Obamacare is producing new jobs — in temp agencies. Firms use temps to avoid the 50-employee threshold where Obamacare kicks in. Ain’t it great! Then the other day there was a story about thow the tax burden of major U.S. firms has declined. What has happened is that corporate tax rates in other countries declined, reducing the overall tax rate of U.S. multinationals. The Post wonders whether U.S. corporate tax rates should be increased. But they’re already almost the highest in the first world, and give U.S. firms an incentive to leave foreign earnings offshore. The Post wants to make it worse.
