As Phil just reported, Carly Fiorina said this morning that had she been a senator she “probably” would have voted to confirm Justice Sonia Sotomayor because she seemed “qualified.” When asked if Chuck DeVore would have confirmed Sotomayor, his campaign communications director Joshua Trevino told TAS “the answer is absolutely not” — citing an improper understanding of the Constitution. “Chuck wants pro-life Supreme Court justices,” Trevino explained.

The difference in opinion might indicate a difference with respect to policy, although the DeVore campaign did not firmly rule out the possibility of DeVore confirming a pro-choice judge. Fiorina has been under fire from the DeVore campaign for being what his website describes as “suspect on life issues.” Fiorina maintains that their positions on social issues are largely identical. Fiorina also stated this morning that she was pro-life, believed that life began at conception, and that she was against the use of federal funds to pay for abortions.

Fiorina was an exceptionally sleazy and inept Chairman of H-P (a company for which I have never worked or done business) destroying the corporate culture that had led to so much innovation. It's not a surprise that her principal opponent in her battles was Bill Hewlett.

I can just about bear Meg Whitman (who was up to her neck in the 90s stock options scandals) as Governor -- after all I don't live in California-- but against Fiorina I would probably vote for Barbara Boxer, about my least favorite Senator.

Fiorina is squarely in the Scozzafava camp, albeit for somewhat different reasons. We should have nothing to do with her.

This tells you everything you need to know about Carly Fiorina. Any Republican who would vote to confirm a radical like Sotomayor is obviously a RINO. We actually have a chance in 2010 to rebuild the credibility of the stupid party. It won't be done with such as la fiorina. Such as la fiorina will result in the same old corrupt statism and cronyism under a so-called Republican flag. If we can't convince people to vote Republican with real Republicans, we will not do anything other than further diminish the brand by offering up phony Republicans as our candidates.

I heard Carly Fiorina interviewed on the Hugh Hewitt Show. She was awful. When Hewitt asked her about her stance on abortion, she answered like she was reading from a script.
