Bowing to China, President Obama won't meet with the Dalai Lama
while the Tibetan leader visits Washington. The Post
provides some historical background:
For the first time since 1991, the Tibetan spiritual leader
will visit Washington this week and not meet with the
president. Since 1991, he has been here 10 times. Most times
the meetings have been "drop-in" visits at the White House. The
last time he was here, in 2007, however, George W. Bush became
the first sitting president to meet with him publicly, at a
ceremony at the Capitol in which he awarded the Dalai Lama the
Congressional Gold Medal, Congress's highest civilian award.
While liberals pride themselves on being less bellicose and more
open-minded than conservatives, their moral relativism inevitably
leads to appeasement of totalitarian regimes and fear of taking a
stand for human rights.
This may not be pure liberal pandering, given that China
practically owns this country via debt purchases, and no doubt
the Messiah plans to borrow more to finance his social agenda.

Pete, good thought, but please consider.
Yes, we have a lot of paper in Chinese hands, but their entire
economic growth necessity is the US market.
We are the ones buying a LOT of their low tech products in the
world.
So, similar to petro-dollars, or Japanese real estate purchases a
few years ago, a LOT of those dollars wind up right back
here.

mmmm, mmmm,mmm!

The existence of a partially symbiotic economic relationship
doesn't change my point about irresponsible borrowing &
spending nor my reason for speculation about the Messiah's
motives.

God, this administration is simply embarrasing.
...across the board.
