I Am Now a McCarthyite

Andrew McCarthy, that is. He has a brilliant piece separating fact from fiction on the Obama "birth" brouhaha, and explaining why what matters is not whether Obama was born in Hawaii (he was), but whether Obama tells the truth and has been transparent, etc -- which he most certainly is not. Read Andy's whole article. It's absolutely superb.

This column is the best encapsulation of the deception of Barry Obama I have ever read...and it includes and added bonus, a link to the clip of his "throwing like a 6 year old girl" moment at the all star game.

Excellent information/article, Quin----thanks! Along with many, I did NOT know about the Kenyian political incident or the 1981 trip to Pakistan. Speaking of which, can anyone possible comment as to WHY Obama would have had any REASON to go to Pakistan in 1981, since I'm not aware of any family or business associations that he had living there at that time?????????????

[This article only solidifies my opinion of him pre-election. I was completely unaware of WHO Obama was until he gave that 2004 speech at the Democratic Party convention]

I've been an Andrew McCarthyite for quite some time. Haven't had a chance to read this one yet, but will forthwith.

Great piece to be sure.

The media's consistent lack of curiosity about all things "democrat" (that might not reflect well on said democrat) is made more obvious by their incessant demand for Bush's dental records during the 04 campaign. His freakin' dental records for gosh sakes!

I recall a White House Press conference where some reporterette demanded to know when the President would release his dental records-- to which Bush calmly replied that he had already done so 4 times. 4 TIMES! And yet, the howling and gnashing of teeth of the leftist press continued unabated. In fact...so intent were they to 'find' something sinister, they actually resorted to FORGING the "evidence" in order to smear him--forged evidence that was later defended by Dan Rather as "...fake but true...".

In contrast....the media isn't the least bit curious about the HUGE gaps in Obama's life record--much less his dental records.

Weird, huh?

"Bias"? What Bias?

LOL!

There is one point not addressed by Mr McCarthy - the very point made by Birthers: That Certification of Live Birth could, at that time, be requested and granted for ALL infants of any origin without a local birth certificate for the purposes of eventual inheritance, vaccinations, schooling registration and the like. The certification lists (or listed) the foreign birthplace.

McCarthy's piece seems to have inadvertently dodged the tough question. It remains open: Were certifications granted at the time to foreign-born children or were they not? Ifso, then the matter of its public exposition is hardly a trivial one.

QH: "...matters is not whether Obama was born in Hawaii (he was)..."

ME: Humm seems to me that seems to be what all the hubbub and steam is about. If you have the proofe there are lots of us out here who would really like to see it, and where you got it from. I mean if you have found something that proves The One's purple pruny visage saw the light of day in a specific hospital in Honolulu, HI it would be tonic... and would end all of this speculation and rumor.

:-)

BTW: In 1961 a person of African origin of Negroid racial characteristics would have been called a Negro under the race categorization... NOT African. (African is not a race... African is a continental point of origin.)

But I suppose that doesn't count anymore than the distinction between the words "Certification" and "Certificate"... anymore...

Tootles...
John - TMF
(Reminder that this all goes away when he releases his "Certificate of Live Birth" fiche copy from the archives of Honolulu County (or the hospital if they are housed there...).

This article is bogus.

What's up, Am. Spec.?

Are you going to go to the dogs?

Hey Quin. Obama was born in Hawaii, so it's strange that the White House refuses to release his original birth certificate. Sunlight is a great disinfectant, so it's hard to understand why there's so much secrecy here.

I don't know the history of whether previous presidents have been similarly reluctant to provide documents, but it's not surprising that President Obama is facing unusual pressure to do so, irrespective of his race. After all, it's very unusual for a president to rely solely on his location of birth for eligibility, as President Obama continues to do (i.e. almost all presidents have had two parents who were U.S. citizens). Additionally, it's been well-established that Ann Dunham and her baby Barack were in Seattle in late August of 1961, which was the same month he was born, and she was telling friends in Seattle that she was on her way to visit her husband at Harvard; that was not true, since her husband was still in Hawaii, and would not go to Harvard until September of 1962. What she was really doing in Seattle was registering to enter the University of Washington as a student. She had left her husband, apparently because she found out that he had another wife (Kezia) in Kenya. All of this is interesting stuff, and so naturally many people (including both fringe nuts as well as reasonable historians and others) would like to see what further info can be gleaned from the original birth certificate. Instead, there seems to be a pointless coverup. It's pointless because he was born in Hawaii and the original birth certificate should confirm that.
