The Spectacle Blog

I have just learned that Nancy Armstrong, an ardent researcher of all things ACORN, has died. No cause of death has been reported.

Armstrong ran the MsPlacedDemocrat blog. She lived near Wichita, Kansas, and was only in her mid to late 40s.

Her family posted a notice about her passing on her blog. After campaigning for Hillary Clinton, she became disillusioned with the Democratic Party and left it last year.

I just spoke to her a few days ago. She was a very thorough, determined person who cared about the truth.

Tributes: No Quarter, You Have To Be This Tall To Go On This Ride, Voice For Liberty In Wichita, Proof Enuf, Free US Now, The Provocateur.

Updated Aug. 2, 2009: It is reported that Nancy died of a massive heart attack. She was 49 years of age. I have been informed by another source that the autopsy raised further questions and that the coroner is not yet prepared to officially state a cause of death.

(This blog post was updated over several days ending Aug. 2.)

My heart and prayers are with her family. I pray that someone as brilliant as Nancy will continue her legacy. Although I have to admit, after reading the family's announcement of her death I found it a little disruptive that the message expresses a statement against what Nancy fought so hard for. This is the part that bothered me,
"We know that this blog was her passion and she enjoyed everyone’s support. While our opinions often ended up on opposite sides of the issues..."

I just felt that announcemnt about the death of a wonderful human being did not need to include how someone did not agree with her views. My prayers are with this family in this very horrible time. Please know I did not mean to offend. I just wish that political opinions be left off of this.
Peace,
Jules

I agree with you, Jules. Their remark was unfortunate.

I would like to clear up something that Political Jules brought up. You did not include the full quote. While it was mentioned that they disagreed about issues. It was intended that they disagreed about life's issues which at times were political, but this happens in a lot of families. I think it was unfair that you didn't finish the quote. It went on to say that even though they may have disagreed on things they couldn't deny that she was a firecracker who was determined to secure stable futures for Veterans, Americans, and the world including our generation and future generations. I know that she would be proud that they told the truth that they didn' t always agree, but that they could respect each other's opinions and co-exist. I know you didn't mean to offend or hurt anyone's feelings, but it was not an insult. It was intended to show that she was very open to hear and discuss other's opinions even if they weren't similar to her's. She was loved and will be greatly missed.

Thanks to all of you for your inspiring comments in regards to my Wife's endeavors. The Children made the posting before I landed on US soil. Nancy raised them to be free-thinkers, they have their own opinions which they are free to speak in this Great Land. I received a call from someone that was supposed to send me a link to a web show that Nancy spoke on prior to her passing, but I didn't receive it. Sorry but I was in no shape to be speaking at the time. If someone has info/link please pass it on to:

We are coming to grips with situation. Maybe someday the kids will look back and realize what their mother was trying to do for them.
Thank You, Andy

I couldn't agree more with my dad's above statement. I would like to say that our family tread both sides of the aisles on alot of issues. I will say that I was blessed to have been on the campaign trail with my mother and got to see the "firecracker" in action. Thats a trip I will never forget.
