Tall Task

I really wonder what the GOP can do to make itself more hip-hop. New RNC chairman Michael Steele seems to have a few ideas, as he intimates in this interview with the Washington Times' Ralph Z. Hallow. He also talks about "off-the-hook" PR, and telling critics to "stuff it."

Read the whole article. Steele comes off somewhat crazy. Is it crazy-like-a-fox crazy, or just old-fashioned crazy?

The non-"crazy" guys haven't been working out too well. I'm just thrilled his solution isn't "Let's sell some more beanie baby elephants!"

I reacted on this web site with dismissal in the naming of Michael Steele as GOP head. Not that there was anyone else amongst the candidates that appear better, but because he is weak and incapable of driving the minority party to a majority.

This sop for the hip-hop (along with his nonsensical reference to one-armed midgets) crowd only underscores my lack of confidence.

Moreover, as Andy McCarthy pointed out, Steele reacted to the Porkulus bill passage by letting people know he was "disappointed," and found the bill "disappointing."

In short, the guy blows chunks.
