what worries me isnt all this frenzy, the candy grabbing. it is the Commies who are going to take advantage of the turmoil in the next few years. not revolution, but their propaganda will be very tiring as it seeps down to the grass roots to impressionable youths.
my dad was caught up in it in the '30s. it was substantial.

... yes, i know 98 percent of them are goo goo commies, but though they have little power, they do have influence.

look, i remember the Vietnam era very well; the Commie-yapping never ceased-- now i have to hear it all over again.

Alan, put your earplugs in--there's work to do!

I think there are valid arguments on both side about this government plan. Will it raise the budget deficit? Probably. Will it help? That’s a good question. I think economies go through cycles and this might be one of them. I read a good article on recessions and their history on

You ideologues need to understand that tax cuts that Republicans want are not stimulative as I have stated many times. I disliked the current stimulus package because of both the tax cuts included AND the spending on things that are not stimulative. I suggest you read the articles from Martin Feldstein -- who worked for Reagan and advised McCain. This is exactly what I have talked about as where conservatives should be. Ideologues who believe tax cuts solve everything should be taken out by the outhouse and shot.

@ Bob
Wow! You actually think the Feldstein proposals are good?
Bravo! I think there is hope for you yet. Feldstein's proposal is the best idea I have heard during the stimulus debate. Of course the Dems don't want it and the GOP doesn't have the muscle or the bully pulpit to shame the Dems into passing the idea.
I still like tax cuts though. They should be deep and long lasting. Of course spending cuts would also be great but that will happen only when you endorse Sarah Palin for President.
