The Obama Watch

Deceiver in Chief

If he loved his country he wouldn’t be wanting to “fundamentally transform” it.

Barack Obama’s most dangerous talent is his ability to make people believe he’s something he’s not. He is not recognized for whom and what he is, especially the fact that he does not like the country he’s governing. He is effective because he has successfully hidden his true objectives. He has convinced his followers that he has their interests at heart, that he cares about them and wants to help them. The key ingredient in his power lies in his ability to deceive. People do not want to believe that he does not like the country. Our country is in collective state of denial.

Barack Obama is arrogant, intolerant, mean, dishonest, vengeful, and ruthless. He does not wish us well. He is considered by many of his supporters to be a savior. In fact, he’s a destroyer. Is that an unfair indictment? Consider the evidence.

The economy is operating far below its potential. Is he doing anything to discover why? Millions of people are unable to find jobs. Does he seem concerned? He has an abysmal ignorance of how a market economy actually works. He doesn’t show the slightest curiosity about the causes of our economic distress.

He doesn’t know what he’s doing and he doesn’t care that he doesn’t know. He’s so incredibility arrogant, he doesn’t think he even needs to know. The very fact that he thought he was qualified to fill the most important office in the world demonstrates his profound arrogance.

Obama sees no difference between his opinions and the truth. He assumes whatever he says is true simply by the act of saying it. He claims to have proposed $3.9 trillion in budget cuts but no one can explain what he’s referring to. He doesn’t seem to recognize that there is such a thing as the truth.

The reason he has to use a teleprompter is to keep himself from expressing what he really thinks. Honesty or sincerity would lead to his undoing.

Obama despises his political opponents. He shows no interest in compromise or negotiation and is not interested in debating or persuading. He wishes the Republican Party did not exist. He resents constitutional checks and balances. When he said recently, “I am not a dictator,” he was in fact whining. He wishes he were a dictator or emperor.

Whenever he faces a choice between his interests and the country’s interests, he always chooses his own. He is indifferent to the country’s pain. In fact, he seems to relish seeing it happen. He wants the sequester to cause as much pain as possible. He wants to maximize, not minimize, the country’s pain.

We have a president who has a profound conflict of interest with the country he’s leading. Economic growth is by far the most effective solution to many of our problems. But economic growth reduces the need for a large number of government programs — food stamps, housing subsidies, and unemployment compensation, for example. He wants to pile on ever more growth-killing regulations and taxes. Economic growth is detrimental to his policy objectives. He only wants to redistribute wealth, not create it.

He has stated that his desire is to “fundamentally transform” America. Obviously he does not approve of what America is and has been in the past. If you love your wife you do not want to “fundamentally transform” her. If you do want to, then you don’t love her. In his opinion, the birth of our country wasn’t a blessing, it was a kind of original sin. The Obama White House is comprised of people who see America in the same way.

He does not like our history, our traditions, and a large segment of the population — Republicans, gun owners, “millionaires and billionaires,” for example. He told his supporters in the 2012 election that “voting is the best revenge.” He has pitted citizen against citizen.

Can it be denied that he has fomented class warfare? Is class warfare a good thing? Why has he done this? He has done so in order to serve his own selfish ends. Class warfare is good for Obama and his Democrat allies, but it’s bad for the country. His all-consuming policy objective is to expand the size and scope of government in everyone’s lives. The corollary is the diminishment of the individual.

He has indicted entire groups of people (millionaires and billionaires, for example), virtually all of whom are honest, law-abiding, productive members of society — no trial, no evidence, just a verdict. They are found guilty simply because they have wealth. Financial success used to be admired, now it is ridiculed and demeaned. His heart is filled with malice, not generosity or gratitude. He is fomenting hatred and envy. Most people want to believe that he is basically a nice person. He is not.

Republican senators and congressmen either do not see the real Obama or they do but don’t want to go public with their beliefs. They need strategies based on who he is, not who he ought to be.

America has made a grievous error in electing and then reelecting a leader who hates the country he’s leading. Everyone who loves the U.S. — its history, traditions, and a free-market, voluntary exchange economy — is profoundly disheartened by what’s going on before their eyes.

Barack Obama is doing profound and long-lasting damage to the United States. He will continue to do so until people finally recognize who the real Obama is.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. His voters know exactly who he is. He is Barack-O-Claus. He gives out ObamaPhones and EBT Cards and thinks that your kids should be able to hump anything or anyone they want any time. So the low-information-voter says give me my phone and ding dongs and I will do with them as I please.

Political economics has made no secret of the fact that democracy is doomed when people figure out that they can vote them goodies and they always commit suicide once morals die and greed lives.

There is no easy answer. Perhaps the only thing one can do is make sure those that exploit the system become the first casualties. If ObamaCare forces you to cut your staff, fire a liberal. And when they are packing their stuff in a box, tell them why they were fired. Tell them that now have free health care. I hope it tastes good and keeps you warm in the winter.

loulou| 3.20.13 @ 9:41AM

Exactly.
Nice article but we already know all that.

Von Mises Jr| 3.20.13 @ 10:02AM

I may be redundant, but at least I am not wasting time arguing with jackass trolls.

TLP| 3.20.13 @ 2:04PM

You do realize that loulou wasn't talking about your Comment, right?

I'm not attacking you. That will never happen.

I'm just sayin that she probably just slipped that in under you, to get her comment up at the top.

I do it, all the time.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

loulou| 3.20.13 @ 5:13PM

Thanks, TLP.

loulou| 3.20.13 @ 5:13PM

VMJ: I was commenting on Ross's article.

Anything you write is worth repeating.

Its definitely the most-financially rewarding I ve ever done. Make money with Google. On thursday I got a brand new Chevrolet Corvette since I been earnin $5269 this-past/4 weeks and-even more than, $10,000 this past month. I work through this link, http://tw.gs/YbVcey

vtwin| 3.20.13 @ 12:41PM

loulou, of course you already knew that that is how propaganda works repeat the same lie over and over until everybody “knows” it. From the outside conservatives look a flock of Parrots or Cockatiels you hear Benghazi you say Benghazi, you hear Solyndra you say Solyndra…

Note to Dr. Ross “fundamental transformation” is how our nation when from hunter-gatherers to agrarians, from a colony to an independent state, from half slave to a free peoples…

Stephie| 3.20.13 @ 1:05PM

From a free people to slaves of the state.

vtwin| 3.20.13 @ 1:30PM

Slaves? Slaves are what Romney bought or at least rented when he bought the appliance factory in China. The factory with the barbed-wired fences and guard towers designed to keep illiterate girls from the Chinese countryside inside to work and live and force by repeated beatings to work 14-16 hours days 7 days a week making money for Romney’ and his investors and the occasional sexual favors for the factory managers. Enjoyed your toast this morning?

"When I was back in my private equity days, we went to China to buy a factory there. It employed about 20,000 people. And they were almost all young women between the ages of about 18 and 22 or 23. They were saving for potentially becoming married.

And they work in these huge factories, they made various uh, small appliances. And uh, as we were walking through this facility, seeing them work, the number of hours they worked per day, the pitance they earned, living in dormitories with uh, with little bathrooms at the end of maybe 10, 10 room, rooms. And the rooms they have 12 girls per room.

Three bunk beds on top of each other. You've seen, you've seen them? (Oh...yeah, yeah!) And, and, and around this factory was a fence, a huge fence with barbed wire and guard towers. And, and, we said gosh! I can't believe that you, you know, keep these girls in! They said, no, no, no. This is to keep other people from coming in." -- Mitt Romney.

At least they HAVE Jobs. Unlike the Women here, under President Food Stamp.

vtwin| 3.20.13 @ 2:32PM

TLP, where you the idiot at the CPAC convention that offered; “Whats wrong with slavery they got three meals a day?”

CJW| 3.20.13 @ 3:22PM

vtwin
You must be thinking of all the Dems like Robert KKK Byrd, Hugo KKK Black, Lester Maddox, Oval Faubus, George Wallace, and the rest of your racist party.

The president who ended slavery was the first Republican president, moron.

Curtis Rasmussen| 3.20.13 @ 3:43PM

VTWIT, you know nothing of the world. Every time you get near a responsible individual, even someone working hard and barely making it, you turn and run without engaging because you envy their freedom. That's half the population. And yet you admire politicians who made themselves wealthy by hook or by crook. Hypocrite.

And talking about slavery, you hypocrite? Under your scenarios newly minted wage slaves would have the fruits of their labor confiscated to entitle completely useless sloths such as yourself who in turn will do whatever their enablers tell them to do to keep the gravy train moving. We already know what kind of slave you are from your frequent comments here.

Oh, by the way. Obama is looking for you. He needs a new servant to lick the piss drops off the rim in the White house bathroom. I know I can count on you.

KennesawJack| 3.20.13 @ 4:15PM

Curtis, you 'da MAN! Damn. "Pi** drops off the rim in the White House bathroom." One of the all-time best descriptors of a liberal endeavor EVER!

TLP| 3.20.13 @ 4:41PM

I thought I was The Man!

KennesawJack| 3.20.13 @ 5:43PM

Well, ya' gotta admit, even you didn't come up with pi** drops off the rim in the White House bathroom. I got an instant visual of vtwit doing that. By the way, he looks a like like Purp (who looks a lot like Arnie).

CJW| 3.20.13 @ 6:03PM

I think it is one person.

markenoff| 3.20.13 @ 3:59PM

"“fundamental transformation” is how our nation when from hunter-gatherers to agrarians,"

Um, yeah, we were never a nation of hunter gatherers. The aboriginal people who were here were stone age hunter-gatherers to a certain extent but a lot were settled agriculturists.

"from a colony to an independent state" That was a fundamental transformation from subjets of a king to citizens of a federal democracy. Barak Obama wants to reverse that tide. King Barak the First (the Great).

I believe Barak Obama can make this country what it once was......a barren wasteland.

Anthony| 3.20.13 @ 4:29PM

Funny thing about that vtwin, Resident Village Idiot #2, when we concerned Americans say Benghazi, all the Muslim Marxist, Hillary and the whores in the media say, is "What about Benghazi"? Or, in the case of Hillary, co butcher of Benghazi, "What difference does it make"?
If Fast & Furious and Benghazi had taken place under a R president, he would already be in prison. When the amoral and totally corrupt D party is in power, supported by trolls like you, nada, not a peep.
If a R president had pissed away millions of taxpayer dollars on a bullshit solar scheme like Solyndra he'd be impeached by now.
But because it's one of the pet causes of the left and the Ds are in total control, corruption reigns supreme.
Yeah vtwin, you're damn right we know how propaganda works, it's called the Leftist Establishment.

Americanpatriot| 3.22.13 @ 4:35PM

If they are willing to sell their souls to the devil and that is exactly what they are doing when they embrace Obama and the left's agenda, Godless, immoral and corrupted then we cannot help them. God has a day of judgement reserved for them and we are getting close to that time, praise the Lord when the Lord will pour out his wrath. I just hope he has raptured the Christians first before all the stuff hits the fan.

AlanAnti-RoveCheneyBrooks | 3.20.13 @ 10:39AM

CJW,
If you do not fundamentally transform America, as Krushchev said they will bury you-- the other nations will leave you in the dust. Irony would be, your kids and grandkis would lose out.

AlanAnti-RoveCheneyBrooks | 3.20.13 @ 10:41AM

...Not merely CJ, but to all the rest of you: in international affairs, morality comes after pragmatism. Tough shit-- you do not make rules outside your nation save for failed nation-building..

CJW| 3.20.13 @ 1:46PM

Go take your meds Alan, lie down ,take a nap.

Maybe you are right, we should follow the advice of Nikita Krushev who did such a terrific job with the Soviet Union.

Oh, wait, the Soviet Union does not exist anymore. What happened to it? Did you know that , Alan?

Amazingly the Main Stream Media live in the same room with all these elephants and sound just like Jimmy Durante in a famous film:''What elephant?"

TLP| 3.20.13 @ 8:05AM

Finally. Someone with Ol Tim's Balls. (Just be careful, and don't mention that he's black)

Obama's "Power" isn't that he's able to Convince people that he's lookin out for them. His "Power" comes from 40 + Years of The Immigration Act of 1965, 40 + Years of Liberal Indoctrination in our Public Schools, our Movie Screens, and our Televisions.

He has no more Power than Sean Penn's dead boyfriend did. He's just been Blessed by Satan to come onto the World Stage at a time of a Worldwide Crises - The Worldwide Financial Crises - offering Hope. (Sound familiar)

Because of the lack of Work Incentive in this Country brought about by the Great Society, along with its destruction of the Black Family, he's been Blessed by Satan with a Perpetual Unruly Mob, which cares Nothing for the Rules, the Laws, or Common Decency. They are more than willing to take to the Streets, and Burn Everything to the Ground, if it will Further his Goals.

He has been Blessed with an Amoral Populace. People who March in the Streets for the RIGHT to Murder their Children inside the Womb. People who consistently commit the Lion's Share of Rapes, Robberies and Murders, and clog up our Courts and our Prisons with their Bastard Offspring. People who set fires, and then Shoot the Firemen when they show up to put it out.

He has been Blessed by Satan with a Sycophantic Press. One that is more than willing to Cover his Tracks, and look the other way for the Greater Glory of their Master.

tasine| 3.20.13 @ 8:33AM

Great comment! Absolutely on target. Additionally, I happen to believe he is a United Nations plant and sycophant sent to destroy our nation so that the UN can take it over.

I'm sure you have noticed the headlong rush by the Democrat Party to do as much damage as physically possible in a very short time. Now that the socialists have left their closets, they MUST make it work, lest they be shuttled back into those dark closets. For them, it is, I believe, now or never in their lifetimes. They didn't exit their closets until they thought the American public was ripe for the pickings, and I believe they timed it pretty well.

Al Adab| 3.20.13 @ 9:24AM

The man is nothing but a street corner agitator talented at creating emotional responses in his listeners. Many such have emerged in world history sometimes gaining power in their nations.

Philosophical consistency is not a strong suit among his followers and so the dichotomy of fundamental transformation. The question for us is what to do about it? We write here to one another. We write letters to the editor, we speak out at local town hall meetings and we vote. What does it avail? The citizenry at large seems more interested in their bowl of pottage than in their birthright of liberty.

gene| 3.20.13 @ 9:32AM

Nothing will happen as long as the media back Obama. LBJ did things that would horrify and stonish people but he was not forced out until the media turned against his war. Ditto for Nixon. Between Benghazi and Fast and Furious, there is more than enough to start an impeachment and force him out, probably through resignation. However that will not happen. Bill Maher has his head stuck soooo far up Obama's rear that he could kiss Chris Matthews on the back of the neck.

CJW| 3.20.13 @ 10:20AM

Al Adab and gene
There is no question that the MSM, or State Run Media, helped elect and re-elect Obama.

A Rep president would have been pilloried and impeached for Fast and Furious and for stating he could kill American citizens on US soil.

The MSM went berserk over a third rate breaking an entry to steal some useless documents from the Dem headquarters and ran Nixon out of town.

Obama sends weapons to Mexico resulting in the death of Americans and Mexicans, believes he can kill Americans without a trial, and abandoned Americans to die in Benghazi. This produces a yawn from the MSM.

But we had a chance to vote out Obama, and what did we do? Over 4 million so called Reps and conservatives thought they were too good and pure to vote for Romney, and we have four more years of Obama and his gang of Perez, Hagel, Kerry, Biden, Sebellius, and Michelle's vacations.

All we have is the ballot box and if we do not use it it is our fault.

Al Adab| 3.20.13 @ 12:35PM

Yes, W, there does exist a double standard. Rather than decrying that fact we need to embrace it and use it to our advantage.

You are correct about how the media would report these things were a republican or, heaven forbid, a Conservative in office. Remember the Ervin committee hearings day in and day out on network TV until Nixon was so abused that no one any longer even understood the truth of the matter. Fast and Furious, Benghazi represent dereliction of duty on such a scale as to be unimaginable in any real world.

The threats from N Korea are significant enough that it brought The Left deniers to the point of wishing we had a better missile defense which they so long opposed. Too late perhaps but let us hope not. Israel, Iran? Both ignored for too long by this administration. Now they suggest Iran talk. Iran is not interested in talk, but in action. Too much talk and not enough action, a old song by Paul Revere and the Raiders (the coming analogy?) seems to be the agenda of this group.

The voters got what they asked for, their pottage, and sadly the rest of us have to pay the price in both taxes and the cost to our liberty.

Stephie| 3.20.13 @ 1:09PM

We did use the ballot box. That last election was stolen through voter fraud and intimidation.
No two ways about it.

vtwin| 3.20.13 @ 1:48PM

Parrot one: Stole the Election, Voter Intimidation, Voter Fraud!
Parrot two: Stole the Election, Voter Intimidation, Voter Fraud!
Parrot three: Stole the Election, Voter Intimidation, Voter Fraud!
Parrot four: Stole the Election, Voter Intimidation, Voter Fraud!

gene| 3.20.13 @ 2:24PM

CJW and the rest. It does not matter HOW many conservatives come out of the woodwork to vote. Michele complained about "Voter Suppression"? In voting districts in Philly, Republican Poll Watchers were BANNED illegally from Polling Stations. They went to judges to get emergency injunctions to regain access. In some voting districts in Philly, Obama received ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the vote and the MSM stated that this was normal and not suspicious. As a child in the 60"s we would hear about elections in Communist countries and Dictatorships where the "ruler" received 70, 80, 90 or 95% of the vote and we would LAUGH at them and their so-called "Free Elections" NOW the world is laughing at us and our "Main Stream" Media. We are now a Third World Country and a SICK JOKE in the eyes of the world.

vtwin| 3.20.13 @ 2:37PM

CJW| 3.20.13 @ 3:23PM

You can count up to seven? congratulations.

markenoff| 3.20.13 @ 4:03PM

TNcracker | 3.20.13 @ 4:34PM

Everybody just accepts that stat as fact -- that Repubes stayed at home. I do not accept it, and although I will be called a tin foil hat wearer for saying so, I know that fraud played a big part. It only had to be perpetrated in a few swing states, and it was done with many different methods. You will never convince me that the typical hold-my-nose GOP voter who did vote for McCain didn't think it was as important or more so to go vote for Romney

Butch| 3.20.13 @ 5:46PM

ACORN may have disappeared, but their people and their money did not. They had three and a half years to work on the 2012 election, and it showed in Cleveland. Probably Cincinnati, too. There goes Ohio. I expect similar fraud took place in every ghetto precinct in all the swing states. Union precincts, too.

Bob Grant| 3.20.13 @ 11:01AM

And let's not forget the unwitting dupes who perform obama's bidding free, at no charge.

Today's pathetic exemple would be Andy Katz from ESPN who's made a name for himself by creating this now-annual ritual of unveiling obama's NCAA basketball tournament's picks via a slick television sports show: Barak-etology (groan!). All under the GUISE of obama being THE man's man. THE guy's guy. THE guy you'd want to have a beer with while watching a few tournament games. THE guy you'd want to play a round of golf with (heck, Tiger's even impressed that there are more lip prints on obama's arse than his own !!!). THE guy you'd want to smoke a blunt with (see the Choom gang from Hawaii. It can't get any cooler!).

What these dupes don't realize is they are turning obama into the ultimate Cult of Personality with the under 35 crowd, which will effectively make his disastrous (and permanent) policies will go down the throat much smoother, like the trendy shot combo at the hippest bars.

I will have no sympathy for the U35 crowd when they wake up from their drunken stupor only to discover the massive bar tab obama left them with.

The deceiver-in-Chief will be long gone.

markenoff| 3.20.13 @ 4:02PM

TLP| 3.20.13 @ 4:42PM

You spelled "Satan" wrong.

Americanpatriot| 3.22.13 @ 4:41PM

My friend, anything from Satan is not a blessing and it borders on heresy to think so. Yes, Obama came on the stage but could it be he is the anti Christ. We know he is owned by Satan and his followers also but God gave them free will. We should pray that some of them wake up before Jesus comes. When the Lord takes the church up with him, the holy spirit which is holding back the forces of evil is going up with the Christians who are filled with it. All h### is going to break lose. The bible says people will pray to die but won't be able to May the Lord help my fellow breathren all over the world. This is the time where the church may suffer for their faith but we are not to fear our soul is in the Lords hands.

Belianis | 3.20.13 @ 8:25AM

Countries and peoples get the kind of leaders that they DESERVE. The USA may say that it wants another FDR, but the fact that it settled for a fifth rate caricature shows conclusively that it does not deserve another FDR.

tasine| 3.20.13 @ 8:40AM

In my thinking, Obama has the Presidency exactly as long as he wants it. All he has to do to keep it permanently is declare no more elections, declare he has renamed himself "king", and get on with the golfing. No one in Congress or the Supreme Court is going to do a darned thing about it, and we citizens have "no standing" in court cases re Obama. Our Congress, our courts, our ballot box, and our media have failed us.

KennesawJack| 3.20.13 @ 9:27AM

CJW| 3.20.13 @ 10:26AM

Obama is leaving in 2016. It is paranoia to believe he can or will declare no more elections. He will leave and write a book for 50 million.

The problem is it looks like Mrs Bubba is gearing up to run. She just evolved into supporting gay marriage. She would complete the desruction of our constitutional republic. And we will have some who will not vote because Rand Paul or Marco Rubio or Paul Ryan, or whomever, is not pure enough.

KennesawJack| 3.20.13 @ 11:18AM

Right you are, CJ. Those who stayed home really showed that Romney fellow a thing or two, didn't they?

CJW| 3.20.13 @ 11:37AM

The dupes and dopes who stayed home put their intersests above the good of the country. The choice in November was Obama v. Romney, not Obama v. Someone acceptable to me.

CJ, one can only hope they learned a lesson, but, probably not.

Al Adab| 3.20.13 @ 12:39PM

Friends:
In castigating the stay at homes let us not overlook the fact that Romney excoriated his GOP primary opposition, but treated the president with kid gloves during the election. Had he used the same approach during the general as he did in the primaries we would have a different result today.

KennesawJack| 3.20.13 @ 12:46PM

All of that's true, Al but, in the end, the stay-at-homers did us in. Romney was a decent candidate who ran a pi** poor campaign in the general election. Didn't help that the msm ambushed him during the debates, either.

CJW| 3.20.13 @ 1:54PM

I agree Romney should have been more agressive towards Obama, as McCain should have. It seems they were somewhat afraid to be agressive against the second black president. Bohener is falling in the same trap.

Mr. London, speaking the truth does not fall under "hate speech". There is not one word of hyperbole in this article, yet you are blind to the realities within the article. Frankly I understand Obama, my foe, better than I understand YOU. He has something to be gained from his time in office. You only have something to lose. You've gained nothing and I cannot imagine what you think you may gain. Obama is carefully destroying all you have known from the time of your birth. Caveat: I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat. Both have shortcomings I cannot support. I am a better American than either of those two parties.

Jack London| 3.20.13 @ 8:33AM

So you think Obama 'hates the country he is leading'. How about you get behind our country and our government instead of spewing real hate and wasting your time - you lost.

tasine| 3.20.13 @ 8:47AM

I AM behind my country. I AM NOT behind anyone, including the President, who is consistently and continuously doing it damage. HE, NOT I, is the one who is not behind our country. And when you support him, YOU are one not getting behind your country. You might want to bone up on the US Constitution to see how carefully he ISN'T following it, nor is the Democrat Party following it. I assume you understand the importance of the Constitution - it's obvious that precious few within our government understand a word of it.

I have lost nothing, though I believe YOU have. My country lost when people voted based on feelings rather than on facts or on principle.

Jack London| 3.20.13 @ 8:53AM

Come on then - what exactly is Obama 'carefully destroying all you have known from the time of your birth'? Name something - let's see what you've got.

Al Adab| 3.20.13 @ 9:30AM

Jack,
I will only say this once. The policy of Conservatives is to hold fast to a nation which allows many to try and some to achieve. The more who rise the better we all are.

Those of you who see only failure should persevere and hope to become part of the top 20%. A nation full of victims will fall; a nation of strivers and achievers will succeed. Turn aside from your jealousy and greed; your envy and resentment of others. Seek instead to tend your own garden, pursue your dreams and find fulfilment in the life you have been given.

Have a great rest of the day.

Jack London| 3.20.13 @ 9:47AM

Well Al - you named not one thing that is being destroyed. But you have a nice day too.

Citizen Jerry| 3.20.13 @ 11:16AM

Well said. But please remember to never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

vtwin| 3.20.13 @ 12:57PM

A nation of only haves and have-nots is a nation ripe for the radical -isms. Fascism to "persevere" the privileged and Communism offering "hope" to the masses.

Purp| 3.20.13 @ 4:10PM

I suppose you think anyone who needs some help is a victim? Like Paul Ryan? Or Mitt Romney?
So you don't believe in helping others succeed, when you have succeeded yourself? I suppose you think you did everything completely on your own, no help from anyone, anytime?
Needing a helping hand is not the same as wanting a handout.
Investment in Education is not a handout.
Investment in Infrastructure is not a handout.
Investment in Alternate Energy is not a handout.
Investment in Advanced Mfg is not a handout.
Paying Seniors for Social Security they paid in to receive is not a handout.
Paying for Seniors medical care they have paid in to receive is not a handout.
The disabled (especially Veterans), injured or deathly ill are in a different class, but do you consider helping them a "handout"?
How about passing laws favorable to one Corporation or Company over another? Is that a handout?

KennesawJack| 3.20.13 @ 9:42AM

Let's start with the rule of law. Tell me, Pinko, what would your reaction have been if W or Reagan made recess appointments when the Senate was not in recess and then refuse to recall them after the Supreme Court found them unconstitutional? Tell me, Pinko, what would your reaction have been if Nixon's Attorney General had ordered his Justice Dept. not to prosecute crimes commited by whites on blacks. Tell me, Pinko, what would your reaction have been if Bush had bailed out a major corporation and, willy-nilly, removed bond holders from their preferred creditor positions in favor of better pensions for the corporation's executives? That ' sjust for starters, Pinko, when it comes to what this Marxist bastard (and he IS a bastard, Arnie. Look it up.) is"carefully destroying". Just for yuks, Pinko, given a hypothetical, what would your reaction be if Obamarx finds a reason to declare martial law and cancel the 2016 elections? Far fetched hypothetical, I know, but just what would your reaction be? I'm betting you'd be on this site trumpeting the courage of our Marxist-in-Chief, right?

Jack London| 3.20.13 @ 10:37AM

On the 10 year anniversary of the Iraq invasion, you have one clue.

Anthony| 3.20.13 @ 10:46AM

"The Iraqi dictator threatens the safety of his people, the stability of his region, and the security of all the rest of us. Some day, some way, I GUARANTEE YOU, (emphsis added) he'll use his arsenal." William Jefferson Blythe Clinton February 1998.
On the 10th anniversary of the Iraq invasion, you still have your head up your ass.

KennesawJack| 3.20.13 @ 11:06AM

Nice, Anthony. Very nice. But one minor correction, it's Obamarx's ass his head is up, not his own.

Arnie| 3.20.13 @ 11:39AM

Yes, Anthony, Clinton thought he was a threat.

Yet your boy pulled the trigger with the "up-to-date" intelligence (cooked up in Cheney's kitchen).

Anthony| 3.20.13 @ 4:46PM

You trolls are gluttens for punishment. I was saving this one in case Jack emerged from his hole, but you'll do.
"In October 1998, Congress passed the "Iraq Liberation Act, which made regime change in Iraq official U.S. policy. It passed 360-38 in the House and by unanimous consent in the Senate. (Translation: the D whore senators didn't want to be seen voting Yea, so lefty trolls like you wouldn't get on their case).
In December 1998 President Clinton ordered Operation Desert Fox, a four day bombardment of Iraq with the specific purpose of , "DEGRADING SADDAM'S WMD CAPABILITY".
No amount of cooking in Cheney's kitchen did that moron!!
Truly Arnie, leftism is a mental disorder, which you exhibit daily.

Good point CJW. If lies were WMD, Clinton would have wiped out the entire world population.

Jacob McCandles| 3.20.13 @ 12:30PM

Hitler "ethnically cleansed" 10 million or so Jews. Hussein (Sadam, not Barak) only gassed 600,000 Iraqis or so.

I think you have to gas over 1,000,000 before a dictator is worthy of ousting. I think that's what it is.

vtwin| 3.20.13 @ 1:08PM

Jacob, estimates run as high as 1 million Iraqi deaths because of our war of aggression and the subsequent occupation of Iraq. So, do think it is fair to ask the question; who murdered more Iraqis Bush or Saddam?

CJW| 3.20.13 @ 2:01PM

vtwin
You have officially entered purp-arnie land if you believe Bush "murdered" any Iraquis, or killed more than Saddam.

Iraquis were killed in an a war authorized by Congress. Do you think we murdered the Nazis and Japanese and North Koreans and Vietnamese?

If you want to use the word "murder" think of Obama killing Americans on American soil as he claims the power to do so.. Or think of Janet Reno Bubba incinirating 100 Americans, mostly women and children.

You seem to have gone over the edge.

Better yet, execution without trial.

Purp| 3.20.13 @ 4:28PM

CJ - the war wasn't legally authorized by Congress - that's called a Declaration of War, spelled out in the Constitution. But Republicans ignored the Constitution.
Bush also must certify that action against Iraq would not hinder efforts to pursue the al Qaeda terrorist network that attacked New York and Washington on 9/11. And it requires the administration to report to Congress on the progress of any war with Iraq every 60 days. - He broke the agreement by leaving Afghanistan and Bin Laden for Iraq.

It was Bush's war, stupid war, and was planned BEFORE 9/11... Bush's first Treasury Secretary has told us that. Duh.

markenoff| 3.20.13 @ 4:38PM

"the war wasn't legally authorized by Congress"

The Iraq Resolution or the Iraq War Resolution (formally the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002, Pub.L. 107-243, 116 Stat 1498, enacted October 16, 2002, H. J. Res. 114) is a joint resolutioin passed by the United States Congress in October 2002 as Public Law No: 107-243, authorizing military action against Iraq.

Now what Declaration of War from Congress did Obama obtain before sending US jets to bomb Libya? And what Declaration of War from Congress allows Obama to kick suspected terrorists and their children using drones with Hellfire missiles in Afghanistan, Yemen and Pakistan?

CJW| 3.20.13 @ 5:09PM

Purpie the Village Idiot

I usually just post your inane comments to show how stupid you are, but I will make an exception.

So the opinion of the Treasury Secretary who was forced out trumps the vote of Congress? Is that what you believe?

Hey moron, do you know that Obama is using the Iraq Resolution posted below by markenoff as the legal justification for the drone killings? Should Obama get a Declaration of War to continue using the drones? Who will Obama declare war upon?

CJW| 3.20.13 @ 11:39AM

Answer the question, Commie Jack, if you can.

Al Adab| 3.20.13 @ 12:43PM

They seem to conveniently forget that Congress passed what amounted to a declaration of war authorizing the use of force in Iraq. Iraq is no longer a threat to regional and world stability.

They also seem to forget that the war was short and the nation building occupation was the error opposed by Conservatives and libertarians. Altruism is a poor basis for foreign policy.

Apothis| 3.20.13 @ 8:42AM

Jack you are exactly the "liberal" described in this article. What a stupid response. The right's elite have no interest in owning the wealth of the US.
The US has no wealth you idiot. Wealth is created by individuals who work hard and take risks and most of it should be theirs, they earned it. Not owned by the US for distribution to all the "poor".
I am hopeful your is the stupidest comment I will read all day.

Jack London| 3.20.13 @ 8:44AM

"The right's elite have no interest in owning the wealth of the US."

Thanks for the best laugh of the day. You really are a funny man.

tasine| 3.20.13 @ 8:51AM

You may think him a funny man. But I hope you also think him a logical man, because his comments are exactly on target . Individuals make wealth and it is theirs to keep. At least it should be theirs to keep. Unfortunately the left in this country would take every cent of earnings from their opponents if they thought they could get away with it. Since they cannot get away with it, they make the attempt with taxes through the strength of FORCE. Anything that requires FORCE obviously is so bad that it cannot be accomplished without FORCE.

Jack London| 3.20.13 @ 8:54AM

So if the top 1% own 99.99% of wealth you'd be OK with that?

CJW| 3.20.13 @ 10:43AM

Commie Jack
You actually believe that there is "wealth" owned by the 1% as if the "wealth" exists independently of the efforts to produce wealth, and the 1% took it.

Granted there are some who inherited wealth, such as the Kennedys or who marry wealth such as Jean Kerry or some who sell pardons like Bubba or some who use the taxpayers money for vacations such as Obama/Michelle.

But most actually have to work to create a business or an idea or patent that will result produce income, and when the income is saved, it becomes wealth.

You sound petty and jealous of those who have worked and saved.

Stephie| 3.20.13 @ 1:34PM

Do you not ever wonder Jack, how obama and his foul spouse got so rich? All his friends as well? Does it not bother you that they spend billions on themselves with the money they steal from you?

markenoff| 3.20.13 @ 4:42PM

"So if the top 1% own 99.99% of wealth you'd be OK with that?"

Nice strawman.

Apothis| 3.20.13 @ 8:53AM

Yes laugh at the truth while you cling to your make believe world. Hey Jack, How many checks do you get from the government every month?

Jack London| 3.20.13 @ 8:55AM

What truth? Are you saying rich people have no interest in getting richer?

Apothis| 3.20.13 @ 9:09AM

When did rich people wanting to get richer become a bad thing? Seriously? Rich people getting richer means more tax revenue Jack.
Duh. That is what creates economic growth for the country. Repeat after me jack; Rich people getting richer is good for everybody, not bad.

Jack London| 3.20.13 @ 9:16AM

So you lied when you said "The right's elite have no interest in owning the wealth of the US." But we knew that.

Apothis| 3.20.13 @ 9:32AM

What wealth are you referring to? The US is currently 16 trillion dollars in dept. Are you referring to future tax collections? When did our income become the property of the US?

Jack London| 3.20.13 @ 9:45AM

So Mitt Romney's net worth in property, stocks, cash etc is actually a minus worth? Sure about that?

George S| 3.20.13 @ 11:14AM

Jack: Who paid Mitt Romney all that money and why? I guarantee you that whoever paid Romney didn't do it for nothing in return. So if Romney didn't steal the money, how did he get it? Was it assigned to him when he was born?

Who pays Rush Limbaugh his millions and why? His advertisers that sign up with his radio station, who's owner pays Limbaugh for the revenue stream his show creates. What do they get in return? Your consideration when you go out to purchase something you need or want that they happen to sell. How does Limbaugh then steal it or own more of it than you? Is Limbaugh worth that kind of money? The only person who can answer that is the one that pays him.

Now if you want to talk about stealing wealth, then look to those who receive tax dollars. Namely, those who are in bed with government. Who exactly got the 500 million tax dollars that disappeared into Solyndra? What did you get in return?

No, Jack, "wealth" is not a pie created by Gaia which the Republicans get voted in to steal 99% of it for the rich. That kind of thinking would make a mental patient blush. Wealth happens when you go to work and produce something that another person wants and when he buys it wealth is exchanged -- your labor for his, with cash being a receipt for the labor.

Arnie| 3.20.13 @ 10:51AM

Jack! You're comments are great! Ha! Keep it up.

@Apothis, the total wealth of the U.S. is around 50-65 trillion. The top 1% own 35% of that.

And your party and ilk want to increase that number. We all know the Republican Party praises evil greed. And they definitely know how to reward the greediest. The Koch brothers want to thank you for spreading their propaganda by the way. You get a sticker.

Arnie| 3.20.13 @ 10:51AM

Your comments*

George S| 3.20.13 @ 11:28AM

They own it because they worked for it. BTW, wealth is not "owned" -- it is kept in reserve in the form of cash and assets. The cash is for future trading of wealth with others (such as when they buy something your boss makes, thus making it possible for you to get paid). Assets are wealth cashed in. When you buy your million dollar boat, that boat represents the one dollar that one million people traded you for what you produce. Those one million people cannot buy that boat because those who make the boat are in short supply. Since the boat makers are unwilling to work for free (including the secretary or the boat factory janitor), you cannot have your boat. So no wealth was created that you are being denied, nor are the boats actually produced hogged up by the rich -- the boats only exist because the rich want them.

But you voted for Obama to punish those rich guys because they can buy a boat and you cannot. By denying them the boat, you think you are now in the same boat -- equally miserable with no wealth. Yet... yet.. you demand those rich guys still produce the gasoline and the food and the toys and the electronics and the video games and everything else that makes your life enjoyable.

Arnie| 3.20.13 @ 11:37AM

No George...actually the Koch Brothers inherited their wealth from their father, who by the way, made part of his fortune working with the USSR!

I'm not joking. Look it up. You can't make this stuff up. Classic!

George S| 3.20.13 @ 11:46AM

I didn't say anything about the Koch Brothers (evil music). What's wrong with inheriting? And what is so bad about the USSR? Are you saying their system is... bad? How can it be, for in the USSR there were no rich people except for the communist party elites. And how did the father make the other part of his fortune?

When you do not have an intelligent reply, just go Koch.

Arnie| 3.20.13 @ 11:55AM

Well, the Koch Brothers certainly didn't work for all their money like I do.

And yes, the USSR was a horrible place. This is the problem with you guys: you can't tell the difference between a democrat, a democratic socialist, a socialist, and a communist.

But I know a middle class conservative when I see one. He licks the hand of the man that gives him table scraps. The rich conservative says...."Good boy!!! Now go away!"

HisDoulos| 3.20.13 @ 2:58PM

What is it with the liberals and the Koch brothers? Talk about parrots, is that all you got?

How about we talk about Jon Corzine? After the MF Global debacle, with 38,000 victims, and $1.2Billion, (Billion with B) missing, no one has filed any criminal charges. No one has been locked up. No one has been indicted. He even campaigned with Obama while the justice department is investigating?

Because it is fine for a millionaire liberal to steel a BILLION+ dollars from his own customers and what do we hear from you or the press? crickets...

The property which every man has in his own labour, as it is the original foundation of all other property, so it is the most sacred and inviolable. The patrimony of a poor man lies in the strength and dexterity of his hands; but to hinder him from employing this strength and dexterity in what manner he thinks proper without injury to his neighbour, is a plain violation of this most sacred property. It is a manifest encroachment upon the just liberty both of the workman, and of those who might be disposed to employ him. As it hinders the one from working at what he thinks proper, so it hinders the others from employing whom they think proper. To judge whether he is fit to be employed, may surely be trusted to the discretion of the employers whose interest it so much concerns. - Adam Smith

Thank you, Mr. Ross. You are exactly on target re our President. I think that his hatred of America has been ingrained in him from the time of his birth by his mother and grandparents. He was raised exclusively by people who didn't care for our form of government, capitalism or our free life-styles.

What disturbs me more than his attitude is this: American born children of decent parents have given up their lives, their free thought, their consciences, their personal philosophies for living to the left wing when all logical people KNOW that what's being done is WRONG and should not be happening. I do believe they will support him even as they are lead to the guillotines. I cannot fathom what they believe they are getting by supporting this severely mentally disturbed man we have for a President.

Seapuss| 3.20.13 @ 8:24AM

These things have been known for quite some time.

Liberals squirm when they're called "unpatriotic", because they know the shoe fits. They do not love their country. In fact, they hate their country, where it came from, and everything it stands for. Rather, liberals are in love with what they want the country to become. Michelle Obama admitted as much, in 2008, when she said, "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country ... because I think people are hungry for change."

And when they call others "racist", they are merely projecting. While liberals claim Republicans oppose Obama "because he's black", they voted for Obama for precisely the same reason.

Dear Mr. Ross:

I once had the misfortune to work with a man just like Obama. At first, like you, I thought him a liar but I later came to realize he was mentally ill: completely unable to tell truth from falsehood - when he spoke he simply reflected the attitudes and opinions of the strongest person in the room, and often seemed surprised at what he heard himself saying.

The guy I worked with was just like Obama: able to agree with both sides on any argument and so hired and trusted by both, but unable to hold a position on anything. His actions were therefore driven by what's left when rational consideration of alternatives fails: personal angers, fears, ambitions, and hatreds. Just like Obama.

Belianis | 3.20.13 @ 8:55AM

You are describing a major weakness of Emperor Nicholas II: he never had opinions of his own, but instead simply replicated the opinions of the last person he had spoken to, which meant of course that he would change his opinions later to replicate those of the next person he spoke to.
You know, of course, what was the end of NII.

loulou| 3.20.13 @ 9:46AM

obama has no such talent. He is as transparent as a pane of glass. I asked my kids when he ran for president: Wouldn't you wonder if a man claimed he loved a woman, but he constantly said he wanted to change her hairstyle, the way she dressed, the way she talked, the way she walked the way she cooked, etc.? Wouldn't you suspect he didn't really love her? If Obama loved America, why is his slogan "change?"

JimW9| 3.20.13 @ 9:19AM

You are spot on, Mr. Ross, with one glaring exception. You state "He doesn't know what he's doing". I think you do Mr. Obama an injustice with this characterization. It would seem he knows exactly what he's doing. His actions are calculated to the nth degree. He is very smart and savvy. If it's not clear to anyone that he intends to do as much damage to capitalism and to the standing of the United States in the world as is humanly possible in his tenure as President, then I would say that person would be the one not knowing what he's doing.

A. C. Santore| 3.20.13 @ 9:45AM

JimW9, I apologize for not having read your comment before posting mine before. We certainly do agree completely.

Such Bullcrap. Ronald Reagan "Transformed" America - did he hate America?
Your arguments are specious and dripping with vitriol, when we all know you hate him because he's black. For others, it might be because you can't beat him...
Nevertheless, he is an excellent President, dealt a far worse hand than his predecessors and with an opposition far more obstructive than previous presidents had.
He saved us from the spendthrift Republicans and GW Bush's ill conceived wars and policies. The deficit is coming down dramatically, the economy is improving and all in the face of complete Republican resistance.
What could have been if the Republicans cared about the country more than they disliked President Obama? We'll never know, but it ensures the Republicans will be out of power for years to come.

Mr. Ross, I suppose one could find areas of disagreement when someone says it's raining, but in this one instance from your column you're wide of the mark.

In your otherwise excellent and pointed article, you write, "He doesn’t know what he’s doing and he doesn’t care that he doesn’t know."

Respectfully, that's a very dangerous statement because you can't counter him if you believe that.

He knows exactly what he's doing, to the smallest detail.

I do sometimes wonder whether conservatives in Congress know what he's doing, or, as you say, they don't want to "go public." I certainly hope it's the latter!

loulou| 3.20.13 @ 9:48AM

In fairness to Mr Ross, it's probably that Obama doesn't know the details of what he's doing.
Remember--Obama is merely a puppet.

All true Dr. Ross, but what your article really means to expose are the trolls in the leftist establishment and the people who actually voted for the Destroyer-in-Chief.
We can condemn Obozo for the Destroyer that he is, except the Destroyer has a willing army of supporters behind him.
That is the real tragedy behind the Muslim Marxist, a willing, hateful and mesmorized cabal of supporter who hate America as much as he does.

Louis Jenkins| 3.20.13 @ 9:48AM

Ooooow, Mr. Ross, be careful. You speak to much truth. Afterall, the Obama supporters will go on supporting the man no matter what, no matter how many ambassadors get killed, no matter how many sequesters come to rest on the Republicans, no matter how many gun control bills are passed, and no matter how many Fast and Furious episodes are seen, ad infinitum.

The left is obsessed with equality. In a leftist utopia everything must be equal. In a free society equality is non-existent. This inequality is the basic cause of the left's foaming-at-the-mouth hatred for America. You can also use this inequality as a selling point for the country's morons, saps, and suckers to rope-a-dope them into accepting the implementation of a dictatorship in place of a Constitutional Republic. It's quite clear to reach what the left considers utopia our freedoms must be done away with, and an all powerful central government must be in total control. This is never what America was about and usually such leftist regimes took over third-world countries. When Obama gave his infamous transformation of America campaign speech, it was Leftist NewSpeak signaling the left's intention to convert our country into a Communist People's Republic. Everything Obama has done since January 21, 2009 has been done with the holy and sacred purpose of achieving this transformation.

Purp| 3.20.13 @ 5:53PM

Or did you miss that on Rush Loudmouth's show?

Either way you slice it, EQUALITY is part of our law, our government, our society.
Why aren't you?
All your blather about Communism is total bull - but maybe you don't even know that? Did Sean or Bill-O tell you to say that, or was it that skank Ann Coulter?

So quit playing dumbo the moron with your Declaration of Independence spiel.

While you're at it, Purp, tell the President to crack a book about the US Constitution. You know, the one that requires that the US Senate provide both "advice" and "CONSENT" before the President signs a treaty or appoints someone to high Federal office? The one that the Supreme Court not too many years ago read correctly to say affirms the "right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"? The one gives the States and the People rights not specifically given the Federal Government in the Constitution? The one that forbids the President to not enforce laws passed by Congress? The one that has not a word about "governing by regulations" when Congress won't give a President the laws he wants?

Barack Obama is either ignorant of the Constitution or violating it willfully. Either way, he needs to be impeached.

spoofproof | 3.20.13 @ 11:35AM

Outright liar is what Obama is, along with most of the politicians from top-to-bottom, city, county, state, federal. Couple these with the totally corrupt, running-on-fumes bureaucracy and you've got Oligarch Bureaucratic State trying to stay ahead of what people are learning via the internet. The game these crooks are playing now is the same because there is nothing new under the sun. What the oligarchs have lost is their cloak of secrecy. The powers that be have despised the USA from the moment of its founding until now. It is us vs. them. Here is a link to an itemization of modern grievances similar to those itemized in the Declaration of Independence. A word to the wise is sufficient: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/.....ring-fight

The only person obama cares about is himself. He and his wife despise this nation and its people. They both think they are the ruling elitists and everyone else exists to serve their needs. Neither one of them knows the value of hard work and sacrifice because they have been handed everything to them because they are black. Neither are grateful for all the things this nation gave them. Both would like nothing better than to see this nation's economic and military power destroyed. Both blame the USA and its people for the problems in the world. Both are a disgrace to this nation.

davidh| 3.20.13 @ 12:09PM

The real deception is that the middle class has to pay for all this big government.

The lie is that the "rich" will pay. Not enough rich to cover this beast. AMS is on the right track but the theme needs to be the middle class deception.

Obama says he want to grow and protect the middle class, not true, a lie. He needs the middle class wealth to grow the beast.

Again an example is the middle class already has health care. So let's "reform" health care, double premiums so everyone is covered and it's "cheaper" to the tune of $2500 annually. Huh?

CJW| 3.20.13 @ 4:20PM

What is your proposal, that we give up and not vote?

Purp| 3.20.13 @ 5:56PM

Poll watchers have to stay 50 feet away from the polls ... and so were banned.

The Only Good Democrat| 3.20.13 @ 7:58PM

This is how fascists think. The poll watchers should be banned from watching the poll. The people don't need to know what goes on inside. This of course is not how it works. This is how it is done in Illinois for example:

http://www.elections.il.gov/do.....llwtch.pdf

"Pollwatchers may be in the polling place before the polls open, during the actual voting hours, and after the polls close."

"No judge of election, pollwatcher, or other person shall, at any primary or election, do any electioneering or soliciting of votes or engage in any political discussion within any polling place, within 100 feet of any polling place, or, at the option of a church or private school, on any of the property of that church or private school that is a polling place (10 Ill. Comp. Stat. § 5/17-29(a))"

Even in the corrupt failed state of Illinois the poll watchers can go inside the poll but are prohibited from campaigning.

Purp is not well informed again.

Vance P. Frickey| 3.22.13 @ 1:56AM

Not only that, but UN poll watchers brought in to monitor this last Presidential election expressed shock that election officials were forbidden to demand picture ID from people arriving to vote. No one apparently explained to them that the US Justice department sued several state governments so that they could not take what the rest of the world considers elementary precautions to secure a fair election.

Thanks Mr. Ross. All of these things have been written and felt by reasonable Americans since 2008. You did a nice job summarizing and expanding.

One of the favorite replies of leftist trolls is, "...the people re-elected Obama and Obamacare is the law of the land."

Well, good for you leftists out there. Enjoy your moment in the sun, but not one of you have been able to tell me a single benefit of your messiah's reign.

What's that? Obama killed bin Laden? Yeah Obama, thanks for getting off the golf course and watching on TV as the brave military personnel completed the work driven by the policies of the Bush administration.

Universal health care you say? Oh, is that the plan where not everyone will be covered, many will lose their jobs and their insurance, and the law will go broke and collapse under its own weight? Splendid. Thanks.

In the end, I liken Obama to a cigarette. Many people "elect" to smoke cigarettes; it doesn't mean it's good for them. Oh yeah, like a cigarette Obama stinks and makes everything around him stink.

America has an antidote for Barack Obama - the Constitution of the United States of America. He was elected in 2008 partly on the premise that his appointment to teach Constitutional law in Illinois was anything but liberal log-rolling. Since then, his emnity for this country has mainly manifested in his having violated the Constitution many, many times during his tenure in the White House. The House and Senate need to assert our rights as American citizens - we elected them on the premise they'd protect us from a tyrant in the Presidency. It's past time they did, and kept drafting Articles of Impeachment and trying Obama until we are rid of him.
