Obama's Carrousel of Incompetence

WASHINGTON -- According to the Gallup Poll, the Prophet Obama's job approval is now at its lowest since his coronation. It began at 70%. Now it is at 51%. Equally glum, his disapproval rating has climbed from 11% to 42%. So what about his golf game up there at Martha's Vineyard? From all I have been able to ascertain it is mediocre. In other words, Mr. Obama, you are no Dan Quayle. Vice President Quayle was a really superb golfer. Moreover, he ran a competent staff. Naturally it was smaller than Mr. Obama's, but it was competently run.

My belief, based on reports in the news and from my private network of seasoned agents and provocateurs, is that this White House is a carrousel of incompetence. How else do we explain the ravening push on all fronts, healthcare, the environment, fiscal reform, intelligence reform, and a foreign policy of humility and apology? Unsurprisingly, on every front the President is in trouble. Remember chief of staff Rahm Emanuel's, callous enjoiner, "Never let a serious crisis go to waste"? This White House is a serious crisis.

According to sources with whom I confer, the Obama White House is the most tightly controlled White House in years, with the President, Emanuel, and David Axelrod micromanaging practically everything. They compose what is called "the Politburo," and the news story waiting to be written is that their control is as stultifying as was Jimmy Carter's control of his White House. Stupendous failure is in the cards.

The Politburo follows no organizational flow charts. A source deeply rooted in official Washington tells me that when the President and his fellows want information from the National Security Council they may go to its head, General James L. Jones, or they may not. They may just call in one or two of his subordinates. If they do this with Jones they probably do it with other government heads. That cannot be good for morale, to say nothing of orderly decision making. Slowly some news stories are appearing that convey the harum-scarum state of things in the Obama government. Burnout afflicts staffers. The President has fewer than half his appointments in place to advance his historically unprecedented agenda. Mr. Emanuel, your crisis is shaping up nicely.

Some months back Sidney Blumenthal, then a loyal Democrat expecting an appointment over at the State Department where he would serve with his idol Hillary Clinton, inadvertently told a reporter that the Chicagoans coming in with Mr. Obama were even greener than the Arkansans who came in with the Clintons. By "greener" he was not referring to their environmental bona fides. He was referring to their governmental experience. They were provincials, though coming from a large and sophisticated city such as Chicago they were much less aware of what they did not know than were the Arkansans. Remember Blumenthal is from Chicago, and he was very close to the Clintons. His revelation is well grounded.

Blumenthal did not get the appointment the Clintons wanted for him. That brings me to still more evidence of the Politburo's incompetence, to wit: bringing a Clinton into the cabinet. Last year Mr. Obama beat Hillary Clinton in an acrimonious competition for the nomination. She was beaten and out of the limelight. Her husband was discredited as a campaigner and revealed as a cad. The Clintons should have been history. But the geniuses in what we now call the Politburo brought Hillary back to center stage and installed her at State. Then they attempted to hem her in by appointing special envoys and ambassadors, nearly 20 composing what the Washington Times reports is "a confusing patchwork of policy fiefdoms inside the administration that lacks clearly defined lines of command and has the potential for miscommunication on a grand scale." So they brought to the State Department the kind of confusion they brought to the White House, and they did it at a time when foreign policy has to contend with international terror, nuclear proliferation, two wars, and a dollar in decline. Moreover they have antagonized the Clintons.

During the 1990s such incompetence was not particularly dangerous. The economy was sound. The Cold War was over. We could sit back and enjoy the show as Bill and Newt entertained us. It was, as a gifted phrasemaker put it, The End of History. Now, history has begun again. Nuclear arms could fall into the hands of the kind of barbarians that attacked New York and Washington on 9/11. Other nations are prospering with modern conceptions of economic growth, while here at home the economy is weak and overseen by reactionaries with a 1930s grasp of governance and economics. Over at the White House we see three amateurs and a carrousel of incompetence.

I just asked my Time Warner employee family member if Bewkes (Chairman of GE) is jealous that Immelt from MSDNC sits on the NY Federal Reserve Board and is an economic and medical advisor to Obama.

Part of the reason they have not filled the positions is because they are bringing in Czars to do their bidding. Glenn beck says these Czars are advising Obama, I say they are there to follow orders.
I am sure Emmett is right but this administration has an agenda we can't quite see yet and they don't feel they really need to have a strong organizational chart. What this tells me is that even the Washington insiders aren't in on it.
I take heart from emmett that they are incompetent and are overreaching as rush has been saying. The concern is how much damage will they do before their house of cards falls in. I have already had to close my business down and gone through half of my 401K's. I'll be alright but how many people out there are close to ruin because of this band of liars and Communists.

We could tolerate this buffoonery -- sit back and enjoy the show -- were it not for two facts:
1) These evil clowns’ minions are burrowing into various bureaucracies like termites and will be hard to remove
2) They’ve started to dismantle or render ineffective our intelligence and counterterrorism capabilities, putting the US at a severe disadvantage against those who would do us harm.

This article is reflective of what I have had a gut feeling about this administration's method of management. There are so many corrections and clarifications issued by spokesmen that whenever something new is brought up by this administration, you can be sure that a follow up explaination is coming. It is a sign that there is confusion about what is going on.

While not being a Hillary fan, I have been somewhat disappointed that she has looked so inept, and do not think it is all her fault.

Something the article did not mention that I find symptomatic of the micromanaging is that the president lectures and preaches to the American people all the time. He tries to explain things, like how doctors decide to take out tonsils and cut off feet, and it is just dumb. I get the feeling he thinks he's smart and we are dumb. He likes to talk, and I get the idea that all the great orator talk has egged him on to talking more and more. The more one talks the less people listen.

I think it was last summer when gas prices were high, a reporter asked if Bush was going to tell people how to save on driving or something like that. He said no, the people could make their own decisions. Obama would not have let that crisis go.

Things have gone downhill significantly since the election that people still have fresh memories of how "bad" it was under Bush.

Obama's primary problem is that he's weak...in that he cannot control the radicals in the House. Like Clinton in '92, Obama is being pulled too far Left by the House. The best thing that happened to Clinton was when the Reps took the House in '94; they formed an effective Centrist team that actually got some stuff done. But, of course, Obama himself is truly a Leftist and I doubt if he would govern from the Center even if he had the chance.

While it's easy to identify the buffoons, my fear is that there is someone somewhere who knows exactly what they're doing, pulling all the strings of our Manchurian administration. Yes, JohnR, I think a fundamental difference is that Clinton wanted more than anything to be President - in part because he actually had some respect for this country's institutions and what the presidency meant. His left-wing tendencies were only about half heartfelt; the rest, I think, was what he saw as the path of least resistance to power. He was not the vapid, resentful ideologue that Obama is.

And Clinton was, if nothing else, a student of political history. By contrast, Obama believes that knowledge of the playing field only limits his options and clouds his purist vision of The State. Facts only serve as tethers that keep his lofty self-image earthbound.

So while I agree that Obama is weak in important ways, I also believe those who think he's merely a puppet of George Soros and The Left underestimate his own narcissistic messianism. How many times does he remind us that he's president? That's naked ambition - propped up, unfortunately, by emotional immaturity.

He reminds me of an adolescent that tries on his successful father's best suit surreptiously and imagines himself a Player in the manner of his father. He is seduced utterly by the trappings of power, but he has no respect for the tremendous amount of work, of seasoning, of testing one's mettle, that is required in order to truly earn it.

I mean, he actually makes Clinton look like a seasoned and conscientious pro. THAT'S how bad Obama is.

We are living in “interesting times,” a transitional period similar to Weimar Germany. This administration is totally incapable of overseeing a healthy economy. They do not desire a healthy economy. The damage they have so far inflicted is nothing compared to what is in store for us. There will be in the near future a serious crisis (the Reichtag, I mean the Capitol might burn, or more likely something much more serious.) This will require the imposition of martial law. Have any of you buffoons recognized that we have had extreme incompetence in the executive wing when the Republicans were in charge over the past 8 years?

I happen to agree that the Obama administration seems to be almost as incompetent as the Bush administration with Katrina, WMD, etc. We won't know if they were as incompetent for a couple of year, however, but they have a chance.

The problem is not the Obama administration or the Bush administration, but the size of government. It is just too large to manage for a non-executive politician to handle. We let Bush put too much power in the executive wing and we are suffering the consequences.

The only answer to this is to make government smaller and require Presidents to have executive experience -- not as a governor, but as a leader of a large, for profit, corporation.

For that reason, Tyrrell, your extremist political take on this is limited and blind. The real problem is that we have let government get too large for any politician to manage -- especially those with no management experience.

This administration is filled with many, now Czars, who made their reputations espousing great disdain for free institutions and the American theiry of government. Clearly they represent a self-anointed elite who wish to remake the United States into some other fashion of their choosing.

These positions are being created without recourse to confirmation or any check and balance. This is tyranny at its most blatant. Appointment of executive overseers of this nature, controling every realm of life is antithetical to our Constitution and system of government.

What the future may hold is unknown (and frightening) but in some fashionthe citizens must find a way to defend their Constitution against their government.

‘DEADLY DOCTORS’ AS POLITICAL APPOINTEES will decide whether we live or die in Obama’s pending health care plan.

One of these political appointees deciding our fate would be Obama’s top medical adviser, the Zionist Jew, Dr Ezekiel Emanuel. Not one to begrudge himself of participation in nepotism, Emanuel just happens to be the brother of White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, who along with Ezekiel, is a dual-citizen of Israel and the US. Claiming to be made of “tougher stuff” then ordinary mortals, Dr Emanuel, the chief architect of ObamaCare, now pending in Congress as HR 3200, wants to ration our health care before the arbitration of an elite group of Obama’s death panel bureaucrats, between the worthy and the unworthy.

AND WHO ARE THE UNWORTHY according to this Zionist Jew Emanuel whose loyalties are to Israel first and his own kind? And before the public finds out about the ‘deadly doctor,’ Ezekiel Emanuel, who is also special adviser to his fellow Zionist Jew, Peter Orzag - Obama’s director of the Office of Management and Budget. Indeed, Zionist Jews who have so much money that government-funded health care is not needed by them, are out to deny the rest of us what they have no use for.

DR EMANUEL’S ‘A TIME TO DIE’

FORESHADOWING A PLAN FOR EUTHANASIA, Dr Ezekiel Emanuel, (chief architect of ObamaCare/HR 3200), wrote a review in 2000 for the Journal of Health Politics and Law, of a book entitled, A Time to Die: The Place for Physician Assistance.

After quoting the author’s introduction: “This book is about physician-assisted dying, which I think is both desirable and inevitable,” Emanuel concludes that “social policy should keep physician-assisted suicide and euthanasia illegal but should recognize exceptions.”

And thus we find in Section 1233 of the Emanuel-drafted Health Care Reform Bill, HR 3200, the “death with dignity” clause aka euthanasia through consultations every five years for senior citizens. In other words, WEALTHY Zionist Jews like Emanuel who will have all the care they need lavished on them in their old age, are eager to convince the Gentile-elderly to just get out of their way. Apart from being granted (or forced) to undergo physician-assisted suicide vis-a-vis Emanuel’s “exceptions,” medical needs such as organ transplants, vaccinations, and even MRIs, CTs and other advanced technology scans that often are critical to identifying life-threatening diseases are part of Emanuel’s Zionist rationing plan.

IN AN ARTICLE that Ezekiel Emanuel co-authored that appeared in the January 31, 2009 edition of the British medical journal, The Lancet, Ezekiel stated that “medical interventions such as organs and vaccines is a persistent ethical challenge when deciding on allocations.”

In addition, HR 3200 includes a provision to severely limit what Medicare pays for CT and MRI scans performed in doctors’ offices. This would force elderly patients to go to the hospital for their radiology — where there are often lengthy waits and endless red-tape for walk-in patients.

And patients in rural areas who must travel long distances to get to hospital-based testing facilities will be discouraged from getting the tests done at all. Restrictions on medical scans, now in force in England, have resulted in the deaths of over 25,000 cancer patients, according to the World Health Organization. Regarding the incompetence of the GWB vs BHO administrations, I don't think there is all that much difference. When you are making promises that you don't have the authority to enact, it is easy to promise the world. Things become a lot harder when you have to balance responsibilities against promises. That, I think, is the reason that there is so little difference between one administration and another. You do bring up a good point about the expanding scope of government being to much for anyone or anything, including government itself, to manage.

My question for you, given you current frustrations with the Republican party, is why you aren't a libertarian? I personally admire much of the libertarian platform, and have voted for them many times in the past.

This is how we came by "social security." Roosevelt's packed Supreme Court did not do their jobs. Johnson and his democrat party did the same thing with Medicare. The judges once again failed to do their duty by standing with the people against the legislation. In this Country, with 60 years of socialist policies, the people have been cowered into believing that a "republic" means that the people are represented by their legislature and THEY HAVE THE FINAL AUTHORITY IN MAKING LAWS REGARDLESS OF THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE. They may make the unconstitutional law, but it is the JUDICIARY that must overturn it.

Then, they continue to bamboozle the voters into believing that through statutory takings, it is legitimate under our Constitution. It is just the opposite.

If Americans want every other American to be taxed for his "guaranteed income," "guaranteed health care," "guaranteed education," then the Constitution has to be amended.

This is the beauty of the compact between our federal and state governments and the people. The people should not be allowed to reduce the rights of everyone, because they want to "see" a right in the Constitution. There is no authority to do this without the will of the people being expressed through an amendment.

This is also precisely why our legislators pit us against one another by class and status. They know very well that if the majority of Americans understood their lawful rights under the Constitution, they would lose the election by the minority who see it as their "lawful check" from other citizens.

A corporation has a kind of "dictator", the CEO, who has broad authority in running the corporation, but the board provides oversight (but not day-to-day management or even much of a policy role), and it also hires and fires the CEO based on the performance of the CEO and the objectives of the corporation.

Stalin and his inner circle (especially Beria) not only had dictatorial powers, there was no oversight, not way to effectively fire any of these guys. Post Stalin, I believe they either got themselves their Politburo or at least they vested it with the sort of powers that a corporate board has in the capitalist world. They fired Kruschev based on this system. Sure, Breshnev was probably gaming the system to be next in line, but the dismissal of Kruschev was not a palace coup but simply their oversight system finally functioning, in a way it did not and could not function under the Stalin terror.

So if there is a "Politburo" in play with the Obama people, it would have to be Soros or other "players", kingmakers, and off-the-scenes financial backers or manipulators, not Messrs. Emmanuel and Axelrod, who are in the thick of day-to-day operations.

When following the money, it always leads to Soros...this man needs to be investigated. Hungary fined him millions after Oct. 2008 for wrecking their economy...he was also bragging in a UK newspaper how much he made in this horrible market....so how do we know he wasn't helping our economy to fall, to get Obama elected?

I am sure the reporter here is correct but I still have a feeling that Obama is just the mouth piece and he would rather play than govern...others are planning the demise of the USA in his adm.

Why would you call this administration incompetent? Mr. Obama is well on his way toward accomplishing his stated objective: changing this nation.

Flooding the entitlement system, so as to bring down the economy, so as to remake the economy along socialist lines: it's hardly an obscure tactic.

Trillions of dollars of new debt are already locked in place, while the media and the academy have been owned by the Left for decades. Illegal voters are flooding into the country with no end in sight. The Left is quite competent, or haven't you noticed?

On the Right we have, what? The Republican party?? John McCain??

The Right has no vision, no plan.

The Left has a coherent, workable strategy. And it IS working, beautifully.

I read the whole string of pithy comments. I stay glued to Glenn Beck (informative and truthful), C-SPAN, peruse CNN, have no stomach for MSNBC with the exception of the financial talking heads....So- if I agree to all of the points made here (and I do), have read the Cap and Trade bill and the 1018 painful pages of HR 3200 (two aspirin won't cure that scary, creepy bill) ...and I have grave concerns about the 32 czars- particularly the self-avowed Communists - operating outside the Constitution.... without the desire to use psychotropic drugs to remove sense of panic- see the map as it's laid out- see the damage caused in such a brief time - I just have one question for this new-to-my-acquaintance, illustrious group of minds... What the hell do we do about this? Joy

Hi, Semper Fi- All good advice. I have been doing all of your suggestions- Most of the OMG! or positive reactions from my many factoid forwards have come from the Mid-A, S-E and S-W regions. I have received NO responses from the M-W region. If any of you live or know of anyone in Oregon, I had a conversation with an old friend the other day - and I grabbed my head with both hands, sank to my desk and openly sobbed - talking about drinking the KOOL-Aide...
The Ben Stein Article drew me to this site- I have been sending the bullets and facts about HR 3200 to a group in MA (in case anyone is NOT familiar- a state that tilts drastically to the leeward side)- I bugged our rep senselessly for a town hall... No, No - can't do that- No one will show up - Oh, yea? Bet so! Finally, a townhall conference call was arranged. Ted Kennedy died around 12:30am on Sunday, conference call was to be 6pm on Monday evening- 15 minutes before the conference call was to be held- the robocaller broadcasted - in memory of Ted Kennedy - no conference call- and yet a Kennedy nephew was interviewed at the Red Sox game that night.
I'm glad I found this blog to realize (well, except for your Jew-hating person)- that sanity DOES still prevail in this country. We really need to get our country back.
