Where are the Republicans? You remember the party that controlled all branches of government early in the decade. They are completely gutless as they fear being called racist again. The same party who proved to be every bit as corrupt and fiscally irresponsible as Dems once they got power is now every bit as responsible for this slide into facism and socialism as Obama,because they are not putting up any resistance.

No one in the state ruled media talks about how many lost jobs because of confiscated auto dealerships. Obama chooses to let taxpayers finance unions and auto pensioners but puts millions out of work by closing auto dealerships of those who have not supported him. Where are the republicans? Where are the courts? If no one will protect those who create wealth and jobs in our society,what can be the outcome?

Actually, the only thing that surprises me are the people who think that somehow "neutrality" will protect you from the backlash of this new gangster republic we live in. The voters who were pushed around by the sawed off little "gangstas" outside those Philadelphia voting booths were neutral. So was Denmark during World War Two and Afghanistan during the Cold War. So tell me please, which response would be the best out of those three: expecting justice from Eric Holder? Mercy from the Nazis? Or rebelling against the Evil Empire? When has begging for mercy ever worked with thugs and tyrants?

Obama implies a return to our values, but what 'values' did this country ever have that he longs for? I've never heard him mention specifics.

If you've never experienced Chicago-style politics up close and person, you are seeing it now.

Chicago politicians understood Bush's line-in-the-sand comment after 9/11 -- "You're either with us or the terrorists." That is the essence of Chicago politics.

It is how Obama was trained; it is what he knows; it is what we will experience during his administration.

If you don't like it, there's something you can do about it (voting Republican in the mid-terms) but understand that every credible member of Obama's opposition will be targeted in a way that would make the Clintons (and Nixon) envious.

Obama won't release his birth certificate for one reason only: it makes the Right look like a bunch of nut-jobs as they keep harping on it. Just like with Clinton, as TAS is well aware, it is very politically useful to keep some enemies in full throat. The same thing with the car dealerships. Rather than perpetuate that rumor, someone should look into it to see if there is something to it. In the meantime, though, quit talking about it otherwise eventually the MSM will pick up on it, do a half-ass job of investigating it and then declare it a non-issue. We need to show up with the exhaustive report already done. The Right needs to start keeping its cards close to the chest.

I definitely agree with 'jack,' that republicans have displayed absolutely zero backbone. While Bush was president and they controlled Congress, they acted as democrat clones. Now they've been shown the door, they act as though they had it coming.
I lived most of my life in Chicago and the Obam team behaves eerily similar to the Daley machine. As a matter of fact, the November election was similar to all his elections. The difference in November was that John McCain assisted Obam in marginalizing himself. What a maroon!

This is a very good article except for the mention of the Obama "Birth Certificate".
I think this "birth certificate" allegation is phony. There is no evidence other than the question of 'why won't he release the certificate'. Just who started this allegation?
Some Hillary "supporters" including one who believes that 9/11 was a hoax.

You remember, the same angry disenfranchised Hillary supporters who were going to vote for McCain in droves. Websites, like Hillbuzz and a couple of others were indicative of this "grass roots" movement. Somehow, those votes for McCain failed to materialize.

If this allegation of the birth certificate were true, why didn't Hillary herself raise the question? Lord knows, there is no one in politics who loves power more than Hillary. With all of her "resources", she couldn't find this evidence?

This whole birth certificate allegation smacks of an "astroturfing" operation run amok. Don't forget, David Axelrod, the master of "astroturfing" also worked for Hillary at one time.

Much of this reminds me of the Left's allegations against Bush concerning Bush's drug use and TANG experience. Bush never disclosed the former and certainly dragged his feet on the latter. Allegations concerning Bush's arrest for drugs were debunked by 3rd parties. (there actually was another George Bush arrested for drugs-same name --different birthday)

Why allow this to persist?
I don't know but try to make the allegation to the "regular guy on the street" and he will look at you as if you had a third eye in your forehead. It will cause the regular guy to take Obama's side.
It also marginalizes the activity of a segment of Conservatives. Instead of attacking the policies of Obama, these folks attack Obama the person. It is a cottage industry that forgot that this was tried in the 1990's to Bill Clinton. We should all remember how successful that was, right?

When we attacked Bill Clinton's policies, we took over the House and Senate. When we attacked Bill Clinton the person, we lost our numbers. Let's not make the same mistake with Obama. Attack the policies; not the person. Time is of the essence. If we do not retake the House in 2010, forget about 2012.

BTW, with what we know of Madame Hillary; what is the difference between Hillary and Obama?
Go ahead and name one thing Hillary would have done differently.

I don't know if this is as sinister as everyone comments seem to makes this matter out to be. I hope that this writer is wrong. He is correct in suggesting that someone is playing favorites with groups like Acorn, the SEIU and then there's Eric Holder at Justice dropping the Black Panthers case which was a most lovely note of "thanks" for your support.

What's troubling are the results when someone says or does something that he doesn't like - then he gives them finger i.e. like he did to Hillary (twice) during the campaign. Granted if there is a wrong way to do something, then someone will do it- including me.

The President should read several of John Maxwell's Leadership books. The mark of a true leader are people who surround themselves with people who disagree with themselves so they can clearly see all sides of an issue before making a decision. Surrounding yourself with only YES men and women really isn't a good move on his part that will only lead to disaster for him and the nation.

There is an argument to be made that Obozo has in fact already committed an impeachable offense by the way he has dealt with GM creditors and closing profitable dealerships...specifically he has violated their 5th Amendment rights to "due process of law"....not to mention that he may have also usurped a funtion of the judiciary in the process and violated the "separation of pwers" doctrine....personally,my feeling is that if I'm not already on Obozo's 'enemies list' then it's my own fault for not trying hard enough.

When the government and media do not press the president to settle this question of his eligibility to the most security sensitive position in the world, we have lost our government. The only thing we have left is our voice, while we can still use it.

Evidence shows he was an Indonesian citizen in the US on a student visa even after his parents were divorced when he was over 18 years old. That is why he did not register for the selective service, he was not required to, being a foreign citizen. Then he had to create one for the campaign when questions were asked.

True, we have been inundated by freedom/opportunity seeking people from all over the country these last 20 years. We have not completely weaned them from their former governability sheepleness yet...but we are workin' on it.
Obama and crew will ultimately fail. America will come back!
But you know, things have to get truly awful for many voters/citizens to wake up and say "NO MORE".
The one thing that encourages me concerning our ultimate victory over tyranny, is that when the line is finally crossed, and when the gloves of pretty words come off, we may just take the bull by the horns and REVERSE our country's slide toward subjection of we the people.

When I use the word reverse, I am talking about we the people peering into the past and deciding just how far back our 20-20 hindsight will take us.

1950? 1960? 1964? (before the so-called "war on poverty" that enslaved multi-generations of poor people on the public teat).

I think I can pretty well see some genuinely horrible days, for all of us, between now...and that ultimate victory.

WHY?

When our only evidence is supposition, do you honestly think the Courts will do the right thing? Do you think they will overturn an election?
A lot of time and money will be spent; time and money that could be used on more worthwhile agendas.

As far as I am concerned, even if you rid the country of Obama, his policies and actions survive. The way to neuter Obama is to retake the House and win a few seats in the Senate in 2010. Make him irrelevent; then watch him self-destruct.

4. His teleprompter is his method of carefully parsing his words to avoid "coming clean".

The Republicans held congress for the first 6 years of the Bush Presidency’s in that time they were convicted by the press of infringing upon the rights of Americans and accused of end running the constitution and usurping American freedoms. Truth of the matter is that more damage has been done in the Six months of the Obama reign than ever were even said to be done under the Republicans and Bush. Your argument that the Republicans are as bad as the Democrats is self serving, short sighted and completely false. Now I would agree that the Republican Congress was not efficient and did not focus on what they should have. They allowed far too much spending, failed to balance a budget and did not open up America for oil exploration / production should have lowered our corporate tax etc, etc. But to claim that were as corrupt and inept and damaging as this Democratic mess we now have....that is a patently false argument.

God Bless America…..we sure do need it as we sit in this hand basket with only 48% of us knowing where we are going and the other 52% thinking that it’s a great way to travel.

The Republicans could have saved us from much of this financial nightmare, but on more than one occasion they backed down from regulating Fannie because there were afraid of Barney ,Maxine,and the state run media of calling them racist. We know Barney was just protecting Fannie since it was a source of much Dem money and Max had personal financial interests in Fannie remaining a corrupt unregulated institution,and we know The Tan Man bribed 6 Dems,but who was greasing the republicans? Or were they just afraid of being called racists and heartless? I think we have to assume that Dems werent the only one looting fannie and freddie for personal and political riches.
Bush and Republicans could have let GM and Chrysler go BK but they chose to kick the can down the road,just as they did with Iran,and now Obama has taken them by force to payback unions. No more Doles,no more Bushes,no more McCains. We need leaders and thinkers not politicians with their fingers in the wind and our pockets.

14 Points of fascism: The warning signs

In his original article, "Fascism Anyone?", Laurence Britt (interview) compared the regimes of Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, Suharto, and Pinochet and identified 14 characteristics common to those fascist regimes. This page is a collection of news articles dating from the start of the Bush presidency divided into topics relating to each of the 14 points of fascism. Lot of great replies, but I have to jump in here on count of several posts saying that those posting Birth Certificate questions are hurting the current flow of information. WRONG! Just because we have been investigating this usurper's hidden past for over 8 months does not mean that every American has been filled in on the facts. 1. His father was not an American Citizen and never tried to become one.
2. Due to his Kenyan birth his father was a British Citizen in 1961. Kenya was a British Colony.
3. Under the British Naturalization Act of 1948, his fathers British Citizenship caused his son to be born a British Citizen at birth. American Law has no say in this. Obama Jr. was born a Brit just like any other British Citizen.
4. Being born a British Citizen, Obama Jr. can never be considered a Natural Born American Citizen. He is just like or Founding Fathers that knew full well that they were not Natural Born Americans being that they too were born British Citizens at their birth. They knew this so they added to our new Constitution the words "unless you are an American Citizen at the adoption of this Constitution. That was back in 1787 and unless Obama was alive and already an American citizen way back in 1787 he can not use these words. He is not Natural Born and can never be.
5. Article 2. Section 1. paragraph 5. has never been amended nor changed in any way. Therefore it still states that to be President one has to be Natural Born. Obama is not!
6. Citizen (whether he is one or not) is not what is required. A president has to be a Natural Born American Citizen. Born of Blood and Soil with no ties to any foreign country. Read the letter John Jay wrote to George Washington concerning the requirement that a President must be Natural Born and have no foreign ties.
There you have all the prof one needs to show that Barack Hussein Obama, being born a Brit to a non American foreigner, can never be a Constitutionally Legal President of the United States of America. All the facts are there for all to research. Nothing needed to prove this is in question nor hidden. Facts are facts and lies can't change them. All that is needed is one honest Judge. Unfortunate as it is, I feel that the dire straits we're presently experiencing is, in no small part, because many of us Republicans (not I!) were sick of the Bush administration's left-leaning policies and wanted 'change', which we're now all getting, with compound daily interest.

It probably was an easy choice for these hapless Republican voters who helped elect BHO since, still fresh in their minds, were the many liberal agendas Bush seemed to be acting on, not to mention that the totally clueless McCain was in the wings, and oh so ready to continue on the same path with his friend Kennedy.

Because of our shortsightedness, many of us got duped into voting for an egotistic socialist who could care less about our country, its constitution or its rule of law, all of which are being rapidly dumped aside by him who, along with all his liberal minions, have but one goal in mind, to pay back, pander and gain favor with all the liberal organizations, unions, free-loaders and high-rollers who helped bank roll his bid for the presidency, thereby cementing his re-election with their votes and affording him the opportunity to continue his extreme, mindless lurch to the left with the result being an almost certain unpleasant end to our beloved country, as we know it.

In less than a half a year, our country is being transformed into something unrecognizable to many of us God-fearing, country-loving citizens. With the spineless Republicans we currently elected into office, cowering and seemingly afraid to speak up and confront this travesty being forced upon us all, it's very likely that at the end of the remaining three and a half years, we'll find ourselves being a third-world, banana republic with Obama at the helm.

Our only hope is to identify and rout out those elected officials that have only their self-interests in mind and, in the next election and by a massive voter turnout, begin to replace them with those that place their country, and everything it stands for, first.

If we, as a country, have any chance of surviving, we must seek out and find elected officials that don't find our Constitution, that's protected us so well for over 200 years, and its Amendments to be 'obsolete', that believe in the rule of law, that won't allow activist judges to pervert our judical system with their liberal thinking, that can understand that illegal aliens are 'illegal' and should not be allowed to partake of any of our wealth and resources.

Most importantly, we need to elect officials that will stand up and overhaul our educational system so that children will be taught the basics, how to read, write and do math and not allowed to be subject to daily indoctrination of anti-American rhetoric by their leftist, America-hating teachers.

All this could help our Country to survive this massive, unprecedented, socialist/communist onslaught against our way of life and, of course, a lot of prayer wouldn't hurt, either.

One would instead need a declaratory order from a court. Before this can occur, the relevant documents need to be produced. The President is sending a message loud and clear that Jews are the real enemy. Since his brief tenure in office, there have been a disturbing number of hate crimes planned and/or executed against Jews here in the United States.

The most recent occurred on Wednesday, June 10th, when a security guard was shot inside the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C. The victim remains in critical condition. Earlier this month at the Israel Day Parade in New York City, anti-Semites expressed themselves in a variety of hateful ways, including a banner that read, "Close Guantanamo Bay and Re-Open Auschwitz." This all occurred with barely an outcry from the media or anyone else for that matter.
