From the first moment he announced for president, he has been attacked with one sham, scam charge after another. “Russia collusion,” which turned out to be a total fake news item. “Ukrainian bribery,” another non-existent misdemeanor. Non-existent sex crimes. One fraudulent charge after another.
Despite the total control the Left has over the FBI and the CIA and, most importantly, the media, no one has ever been able to make any misconduct charge against Mr. Trump stick.
The whole criminal justice system of the federal government was co-opted to attempt to frame Mr. Trump. The media cheered them on. The Left still could not make a meaningful case against Trump.
Meanwhile, Mr. Trump presided over a spectacularly successful economy until COVID-19 struck. He rebuilt the defense forces Mr. Obama had allowed to decay.
Perhaps most amazingly, Mr. Trump did not start any wars. Alone among Republican presidents of the last two decades, Mr. Trump did not start any wars at all.
He did not succeed in beating COVID. He could have done better following the Korean and Taiwanese examples of immediate protective measures and contact tracing. But he is not an epidemiologist. He is not a physician. He had men and women advising him, and he did what their consensus was. It turned out to be wrong.
And COVID hit the economy incredibly hard. The government mandated a shutdown of a large portion of the economy. It didn’t just happen. The government ordered it to happen. This kind of blow has never hit America before. Nevertheless, because of Mr. Trump’s stimulus in many different ways, and because of the incredible ingenuity of the corporations that handle electronic payments, retail sales are now, as of this writing, stronger than they were before COVID struck.
Why isn’t this being treated as a miracle of economic policy? Where is the record of the Democrats proposing anything better than what Mr. Trump and the free enterprise society have done? Where are the speeches of Mr. Biden and Mrs. Harris suggesting any better way of fighting COVID or the effects of COVID?
This is the media hate machine at work. The power they have over the society, over the voters, over the country, is horrifying. No one elected them. They are not representative of the ordinary American. They are an unaccountable New Class, right out of 20th-century Soviet regimes.
We get the America we voted for, and hard times are coming. We brought them on. The Green New Deal, mandatory racial preferences, failure to keep the streets safe — these are the future, and it is not a pretty picture.
