Crocodile Dundee, call your office.
The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that at least three Nile crocodiles have been captured near Miami. These animals are larger and far more aggressive than the American crocodile, and could be responsible for as many as 200 human deaths annually in their native sub-Saharan Africa. Putting it plainly, they eat people.
The African model can grow to more than 16 feet and weigh upwards of 1600 pounds. More than half a ton. Excuse the expression, but, “What a croc!!”
The obvious question is, how did these nasty buggers get here, the Atlantic Ocean being too much of a swim even for the sturdiest of crocs. Right now no one knows. If some madcap brought them here and released them on purpose, he should be thrown into the water with his pets when he’s caught. The other question is what to do about them. My answer — after Dundee & Associates have them all bagged and tagged — is shoes, belts, boots, hand-bags, and deep-fried croc. But I’m sure the Sierra Club will want them declared endangered species.
