It seems that every day, the Left is furious at someone new over widely held views. Mario Lopez is just the latest example. In June, Lopez was a guest on Candace Owens’ podcast, “The Candace Owens Show.” During their discussion, the two talked about how ridiculous they find Hollywood — particularly on the way they view transgender children. Although Owens posted the episode in June, Twitter users are just now getting heated over it.
Here’s what Lopez said:
Look, I’m never one to tell anyone how to parent their kids, obviously, and I think if you come from a place of love, you really can’t go wrong. My God, if you’re 3 years old and you’re saying you’re feeling a certain way, or you think you’re a boy or a girl or whatever the case may be, I just think it’s dangerous as a parent to make this determination then, well, okay, then you’re going to be a boy or a girl, whatever the case may be … It’s sort of alarming and, my gosh, I just think about the repercussions later on.
Lopez is right. Transitioning children is dangerous. The first step parents typically take when they help their kids transition is giving them puberty blockers. This treatment “puts a pause” on the body’s natural changes one starts to undergo during their pre-teen years. Doctors have administered these drugs to kids as young as eight years old. To put that into perspective, these kids were either in second or third grade. Not to mention, the parents and doctors are ignoring the fact that 80 percent of children outgrow their gender dysphoria.
Puberty blockers harm the kids who take them. Much of bone development occurs during puberty, and these drugs have led to significantly lower bone density. Other side effects of puberty-blockers include stunted brain development and lower fertility. The American College of Pediatricians advises, “Puberty is not a disorder and therefore should not be arrested as though it is a disease. Puberty-blocking hormones induce a state of disease — the absence of puberty.”
And Mario Lopez wasn’t even talking about eight-year-olds. He was talking about three-year-olds. Yet, members of the Left are still calling him “uneducated and shallow-minded.” Raquel Willis, the executive director for LGBT Out magazine, tweeted on July 31,
Dear Mario Lopez,
Transphobic parents are the danger not children being their truest selves.
Too many parents terrorize their children by forcing them into these gender boxes and limiting their expression. If you’re doing this, your parenting sucks.

On July 31, The Human Rights Campaign took a stand to Lopez, as well:
Mario Lopez’s comments are dangerous to the safety and well-being of LGBTQ youth, especially trans children who deserve to be loved and accepted for who they are.

The first sentence in Lopez’s Wikipedia page was adjusted to read, “Mario Lopez Jr. (born October 10, 1973) is an transphobic & misogynistic American actor and entertainment journalist.” Its original text has since been restored.
Lopez has apologized for the statements he made on the podcast. But those comments should be universally accepted: parents shouldn’t take action when their three-year-old children claim to be a different gender. This Twitter rage is showing how extreme the Left is in their views and how incredibly hostile they are to all who disagree.
The ideas the Left so avidly pushes lead to permanent damage to children. Anyone who speaks out against these ideas (or even dares to play devil’s advocate) is immediately shunned and labeled with a scarlet letter: B for “bigot.”
