Spend three minutes to watch something that the rent-seeking utilities, GE and of course Big Wind don’t want you to see. This Canadian nightmare, being replayed in Wisconsin and many points south, is the sort of genius on which your money is being wasted by the bloated federal government, loopy states and even more frivolous local governments, paying for the contraptions in subsides, for the bureaucracy to bully you into accepting and then in facilitating this hell, which then once more you pay for with higher electricity rates. Ah, yes, and again, when the obvious, predictable, yet always ‘unforeseen’ consequence of exporting jobs to less mad worlds emerge.
Doesn’t create jobs on net. Doesn’t help the economy. Has no climatic impact. Doesn’t reduce emissions on net. Doesn’t help the environment. It just robs Peter to pay Paul, wreaking havoc and wrecking lives along the way.
And you, the federal taxpayers, now spend more on wind subsidies than you do on ethanol. Before any haircut the poor moonshine peddlers will take in the form of cutting their subsidies…because they got a mandate. A mandate so huge they cannot meet it despite diverting fallow and productive cropland to try and feed the beast. Wind is now bigger. Great.
Yes, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help’ is terrifying.
