I had to tube a planned column on the difference between capitalism and corporatism — and the sad reality that we've got ourselves the latter for an economy — so that I can call Joe Biden — the corporate Joe Biden, you understand, because he's surrounded by people who are every bit as bad about this as he is — a dirty liar once again.
I know, I know. "Tell me something I don't already know, Scott." I get it. But somebody has to document this stuff, else it might be forgotten. A few days before the 2022 midterms, President Biden warned the American people: “We must, in this moment, dig deep within ourselves and recognize that we can’t take democracy for granted any longer,” adding “In our bones, we know democracy at risk.”
