Peter Schweizer, the very intelligent, skilled writer behind Clinton Cash, readies to drop a new bombshell. Harper publishes Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends on March 20.
“I think the book will fundamentally transform the way people view the Obama-Biden administration,” Schweizer told The American Spectator.
Clinton Cash altered the political landscape in 2016. This book appears like it possesses enough ammunition to make a similar impact in 2018.
The book exposes a number of get-rich-quick schemes utilized by family members of really, really famous elected officials. We’re not talking about your local mayor and his bag man. These are sophisticated, international deals with many, many zeroes involved. They generally involve government and the private sector. The credentials of many involved here look like famous last names and little else. The dust jacket features the visages of Joe Biden, Barack Obama, John Kerry, Jared Kushner, and Mitch McConnell, so make of that what you will. Like past offerings Extortion and Throw Them All Out, Secret Empires looks bipartisan in its approach. Crusaders themselves become corrupted, after all, in imagining corruption as the domain of a single party.
“The book examines a new type of corruption in politicians that gets their family members rich because that doesn’t get disclosed,” Schweizer told The American Spectator. “This represents undetected corruption on a massive scale.”
