Today several members of the conservative Republican Study Committee are filing an amendment to the continuing appropriations that would roll non-security spending back to 2008 levels. It contains a 5.5 percent across-the-board cut of all accounts in eight non-security divisions of the continuing resolution, an 11 percent across-the-board cut in legislative branch spending, and no cuts in aid to Israel. The full text is here. The idea is to get to the full $100 billion in savings. There will be a vote later today, probably early this afternoon.
