The results for the Conservative Political Action Conference straw poll:
38% – Mitt Romney
31% – Rick Santorum
15% – Newt Gingrich
12% – Ron Paul
Jim may be surprised, but I’m actually not: The crowd for Romney’s speech was more enthusiastic than the crowd for Santorum’s or Gingrich’s, and the students waving Romney signs and chanting “Mitt! Mitt! Mitt! Mitt!” in the hall outside the ballroom yesterday outnumbered the ones waving Santorum signs and trying to drown out their counterparts with “Flip!-Flop! Flip!-Flop!” I suspect the Romney campaign made a quiet effort to turn out their supporters.
