Just a note to say that I find Aaron’s analysis below entirely convincing. I understand Jim Antle’s arguments to the contrary, but the republic is best served having the budget debate out in the open fire of a presidential campaign, with conservatives’ most knowledgeable and articulate advocate out front. As Aaron say, let Ryan enter the field, and may the cream rise to the top.
