I did not know about this until this morning, but over the weekend there were a couple of incidents where pro-Palestinian hooligans accosted pro-Israel demonstrators. One of the incidents involved a same-sex couple carrying an Israeli flag combined with a rainbow flag. They were confronted and told by Palestinian supporters, “Jews back to Birkenau” and “Drop dead, you Zionazi whores,” and then assaulted before Boston Police came to their rescue. The day before about a dozen pro-Israel activists were swarmed by another group of pro-Palestinian hooligans in front of the Israeli consulate. Assault and battery charges have been laid against one member of that mob.
Now I was in NYC over the weekend. But one would have never known about the incident if one read The Boston Globe or listened to NPR.
Do I need to remind The Boston Globe and NPR that this city was attacked by terrorists 15 months ago? Those who are prepared to physically accost pro-Israel demonstrators have no qualms about Hamas murdering three Jewish teenagers. Just as Dzhokar Tsarnaev had no qualms about putting a knapsack full of explosives at the feet of 8-year old Martin Richard.
Boston isn’t the only place where pro-Israel demonstrators have been treated in this manner. Pro-Palestinian hooligans have assaulted pro-Israel demonstrators in Calgary, Los Angeles, Berlin while a synagogue and Jewish businesses were targeted in Paris.
As long as those who support the Palestinian cause behave in this manner towards Jews and non-Jews who support Israel the bright white light of scrutiny must be shone upon them until they cease this conduct. Where it concerns the situation in Boston, our largest media outlets have thus far failed to shine this bright white light. As Edmund Burke said, “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is when good men do nothing.”
