Public Policy Polling, a Democratic outfit, nevertheless has been the most accurate gauge so far of GOP contests. This, therefore, is interesting: Head to head, without Gingrich in the race, Santorum wins 41-40 nationally among Republicans. Santorum gets 48 percent of Gingrich’s remaining support; Romney gets 33 percent.
