No Stormy Times Here-Trump's Approval Rating Highest It's Been in a Year

Were one to limit oneself to MSM social media accounts, one would think that there are only two real political stories that Americans care about right now: The Million Brat March for gun control and Stormy Daniels.

Media outlets have been crowing on Twitter about the ratings for the “60 Minutes” interview with Daniels on Sunday night. Even the entertainment press is getting in on the back-patting and engaging in a little trolling of the president:

However, despite the relentless negative cacophony, President Trump’s approval rating now sits at the highest point it has been in a year:

President Donald Trump’s approval rating has hit 42% according to a new CNN poll, his highest level since his rating started to slide early last year.

Trump’s general approval has risen even amid a chaotic couple months in which he has shaken up his White House staff, come under increasing scrutiny in special counsel Robert Mueller’s inquiry of Russian meddling, and become embroiled in two scandals involving porn star Stormy Daniels and ex-Playboy model Karen McDougal.

The article goes on to note that Trump isn’t much behind where both Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan were at this point in their presidencies.

This news no doubt comes as a surprise to all of the mainstream media outlets, but is probably most shocking to the one that conducted the poll.

It also provides a perfect snapshot showing that the coastal media bubble people really haven’t learned much since 2016.

To the chagrin of Democratic strategists everywhere, there are a lot of people in America who don’t bury themselves in political news. This is something that is difficult to understand for a lot of us on both sides of the aisle in political media, but the Dems and their media mouthpieces seem to be in denial about it.

Much like during the 2016 race, the MSM and the Democrats think that nonstop tabloid journalism about Trump will win some hearts and minds somewhere. Rather than objectively report, they cherry pick one or two stories that they are absolutely convinced will finally be the one or ones to do in their avowed nemesis.

It keeps on failing.

Coastal media bubble people should really get out and visit America sometime. If they did, they would find that Stormy Daniels is not as well known as they believe her to be and that she is, at most, a mere curiosity to many who are aware of her.

They would also find out that maybe fourteen people know or care about what Cambridge Analytica is.

That the president’s approval rating has been on the rise throughout the past month or so if comforting proof that the hysteria-driven media aren’t the overwhelming influence they believe themselves to be.

Many attribute this to there being more sources of information than ever before available to people. The MSM doesn’t hold the sway it once did. That is somewhat true, but there is also a lot of noise out there, and that can be difficult to be patient enough to get through.

Personally, I think more people are just tuning out. The media have been so thoroughly awful since Trump was elected that they’re driving away even those inclined to agree with them (I’ve met many).

The only real thing they are accomplishing is making a very loud echo chamber even louder.
